Shoreline Lake Boathouse & American Bistro Expands on Re-opened Operations

Shoreline Lake is expanding upon current Boathouse & American Bistro offerings. Given its wide-open spaces, safety protocols, and proper social distancing practices, visitors currently have even more options for outdoor recreation activities. As part of the updated operations, the Bistro is now open for takeaway items from 11 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday, and from 10 am to 4 pm on the weekends. There will be a limited menu for lunch, drinks, espresso bar, beer and wine, and ice cream.

All watersports classes -- Sailing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, SUP and SUP Yoga -- have restarted, with many (from Beginner to Advanced) scheduled to go through November. Shoreline Lake is offering plenty of private and semi-private instruction for those who prefer a one-on-one option, that is also easier to schedule. The regular group classes will be limited to 3-6 people per session, with each person allotted their own vessel/equipment. Online registration is available for the group classes. The Seasonal/Annual Windsurfing Membership Passes are now available again. This program provides convenient, unlimited access to windsurfing rental gear tailored to beginner, intermediate and advanced windsurfers.

The docks "facelift" project by the City of Mountain View is now completed, simplifying the accessing of watercraft, and allowing the Boathouse to, once again, rent the 16-foot Capri sailboats and launch larger watercraft. With the larger sailboats available, the more advanced and sailing Summer Camp Programs oriented towards older kids and teens have been added to the summer camps lineup. With early sessions having booked up quickly, Shoreline Lake recommends registering kids sooner rather than later. The recently released July 2020 newsletter includes a list of summer camp sessions with openings, and also provides info on the waitlist option, plus a request for community input on starting weekend camps.

All sail boat and watercraft rentals – pedalboats, rowboats, canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards – as well as bicycles (plus related equipment) and Micro Mini Scooters are available. The last rentals go out at 4:30 pm, except for windsurfers (which are rented in 2-hour blocks, with the last rental at 3:30 pm).

Shoreline Lake requires all patrons, staff and campers to engage in proper social distancing practices, according to the County Order. For updates on the status of all facilities and activities, and if you have questions, please contact Shoreline Lake by email or at (650) 965-7474.
