Unexpected Finds Brian Powell Photography

Photography takes patience and exploration. In portraits, it can take many shots to get one that's just right. In an age of selfies, people have a hard time sacrificing control of their image. Earning trust is essential to a good portrait.
But once trust is earned, it still takes time and experimentation to capture amazing moments. This shot was taken completely on a whim during the shoot. Take moments as they come.
It's for this reason that I never go hiking without my camera. Even if it's a trail I've already seen, there's always the chance to see the same old thing in a whole new way.
I love the thrill of finding something completely unexpected that only happened for that moment. But this comes down to luck.
But diligence is the mother of good luck.
