2016: Something New Photo Edition

In 2016 I discovered my love for photography and it is only fitting to share some of my favorite photos as I sit here with my new camera in front of me. I joined the Iowa State Daily photography desk this year and I was given endless opportunities to shoot amazing events and games. I even had a photo story get featured as a centerpiece in the paper! I hope 2017 offers just as many opportunities as 2016 did. Plus, maybe a trip to Australia this summer will help with that (in the process of applying). I'm sure there were plenty of pictures I missed, but hope you enjoy these ones!

My favorite piece of work was a photo story that highlighted the Iowa State cheerleading team. There were over 800 photos taken to get the product I wanted, but the hours spent going through them was well worth it. Here is the full story:

My favorite event to shoot was the Caterpillar Club at Reiman Gardens. It's a weekly event that puts on various activities for young kids and you can't help but smile while you're there. It was also a few days before Thanksgiving break, so it was a good tune-up to spending a week at home with Mackenzie.
