T-Hawk News 3.24.2020 Our New Normal

WE can't wait to welcome back our students tomorrow for a 4th quarter that is sure to be unlike anything we have ever seen. Our East Family has been hard at work preparing for the return of our students to our "New Normal". To say they are a dedicated, compassionate and caring group does not even begin to capture all they truly embody. Remember......#WEareInThisTogether and we will handle this one day at a time. We know these are uncertain times, but our students are superstars and we will support them in every way, every step of the way.

Now more than ever, #WEareFAMILY #theEASTway.

Check out the full update below and let us know if you have any questions and how we can help you.

We encourage you to make this graphic your new profile pic on social media for the next 48 hours. Let's flood social media with #theEASTway!

Mobile Breakfast & Lunch Program Kicks Off March 23

Beginning on Monday, March 23, Lakota’s Child Nutrition buses are traveling to 11 locations throughout our community to deliver meals to children, ages one - 18, for the duration of the statewide shutdown. The bus will deliver meals on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, students will receive four meals each day, two breakfasts and two lunches. On Fridays, students will receive two meals, one breakfast and one lunch. Our meal distribution sites will be set up in the parking lot or outside of the clubhouses at each location. Per USDA regulations, children must be present in order for meals to be provided. Meals will only be given based on the number of children present at time of pickup.

Click here to view more details, including the complete breakfast and lunch distribution schedule and other community resources.

Remote Learning for Students Begins March 25

We know that you have questions about what remote learning will look like during this state-mandated shutdown. Using the feedback we received from Lakota parents, teachers and secondary students, we used Spring Break to work out details for remote learning moving forward.

Remote learning for students will begin on Wednesday, March 25 and will look slightly different from grade to grade. Click here for more details about how remote learning will work in each grade band level.
