2017-18 YEAR IN REVIEW: KARIM DEL PONTE THE SWISS IMPORT WAS RELIABLE HAND ON THE BLUE LINE

MASTER SWISS

One of two import players on the Johnstown Tomahawks in 2017-18, Karim Del Ponte was already an established NAHL payer prior to his arrival in town. The Losone, Switzerland native enjoyed a 48-game stint with the now-defunct Wichita Falls Wildcats in 2016-17, where he scored two goals and added 10 assists. Prior to joining the North American Hockey League, Del Ponte played two seasons with the Pacific Coast Academy Prep where in those two season he suited up for 63 games played and scored six goals and 10 assists.

In his sophomore season in the NAHL, Del Ponte brought a strong, puck-moving ability to the blue line. He was also used in almost every situation on the ice.

KARIM BY THE NUMBERS

Del Ponte played 51 games for the Tomahawks, scoring one goal and added 11 assists. His lone goal came against the Topeka Roadrunners at the NAHL Showcase.
