Signs& symptoms:day dream, talkative, make careless mistakes, squirming or fighting,
Causes: brain injury, alcohol and tobacco use during pregnancy
Diagnosis: medical exam, check list for rating symptoms, looking at child history from parents, teachers, and sometimes child
Treatments: behavior thearapy for child and parent, medication, school accomidations
Stats: 11% ages 4-17 are diagnosed with ADHD, less than 1 in 3 children with ADHD received both medication and behavior therapy, diagnosis is on the rise
