Chapter 1: God, I Guess The theme of this chapter is that we need to let the love of God soak into us. We have to marinate in it. To me, this means that I have to set time aside to be in prayer with God. My favorite story of this chapter was the story of Willy. When Fr. G asked him what God thought of him, Willy said that God thinks he's firme, meaning he couldn't be any better. When we believe this, it helps us to truly know how much God loves us. His love could not be stronger.

Chapter 3: Compassion This chapter is about how God is compassion. According to Bible Study Tools, compassion, a form of love, is aroused within us when we are confronted with those who suffer or are vulnerable. I feel compassion when someone gives me a hug when I'm feeling sad. My favorite story from this chapter is when the inmate answers "That's what Jesus did. I mean, Compassion... IS... God." He is completely right because God is always there to give us a hug.

Chapter 4: Water, Oil, Flame Thus chapter focuses on the theme of sacraments. The sacrament that was focused on the most was baptism. I believe baptism is a very beautiful sacrament. God is welcoming you into his family. My favorite story from this chapter was when George was baptized. Moments after he was baptized, he was told that his brother Cisco had been killed the previous night. This would be very hard news to take in such a time of joy. George truly knew how to grieve and it didn't involve violence or revenge.
