Fairwell Festival

Florida Southern College students said good-bye to the extracurricular school year with the annual Fairwell Festival.

Fairwell Festival is the spring celebration the school puts on for the students. The intramural fields are turned into a fairground. This year’s theme was Star Wars.

Prospective students were also on the Fairwell Festival grounds becuase Day on Campus was earlier in the day before the festivities.

"I had so much fun at Fairwell Festival Festival," FSC Student Mackenzie Blevins said. "The theme was great, the rides were fun and the food was awesome."

There were classic carnival rides such as Ferris Wheels, a swing carousel and a water gun competition. Students could take part in as many times as they wanted.

The field also hosted activities such as an inflatable racecar track, balloon art and inflatable bowling.

“I loved Fairwell Festival this year even more than I did last year," FSC student Catherine Cervone said. "Even with the rain it came together and was really organized."

Rain slowed down the festivities towards the beginning of the festival. While some students took cover and waited for the rain to pass, others still took part in a few of the games

Fairwell Festival also marks the end of most extracurricular events on campus. Moving into Academic Success Week, students are encouraged to focus exclusively on academics the week after Fairwell festival.
