Aspiring Singer gave up her dream because of her love for her family

Lydia Ester Almodovar Chardon Batista Rios Vazquez DelToro was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico where she lived with her father's side of the family for most of her life.

She loved growing up in Puerto Rico, and enjoyed singing and dancing for her family and dad's coworkers at the Firehouse. She dreamed of becoming a singer.

When she was 15 years old, she moved to New York to work in a factory with her mom and aunt.

DelToro married Horacio Vazquez at 18, had her first son, Carlos at 19, and her second son, Nelson at 21 years old.

AFTER DIVORCING HORACIO, DELTORO REMARRIED FRANK DELTORO, A MARINE, WHEN SHE WAS 28 YEARS OLD.

Lydia and Frank DelToro have been married for 51 years now.
