Oh my, did we ever end October with a splash! The dress-up parade today was fantastically attended; thank you to all of you that were able to make it. Clearly not everyone has such flexibility, so there will be some pictures throughout this newsletter from today's events. Our focus quickly turns to Veterans Day. We are lucky enough to have the space in our cafeteria that students may invite a family member that is a veteran to eat with them. The link below will lead you through the instructions to register.
STEAM Update
Little/Big Buddies 1R and 4M made pumpkins! Each student was given 6 strips of paper and 2 brass fasteners and were instructed to "Create a Pumpkin". Each student had the same materials but all had different approaches to creating the pumpkin. Once pumpkins were complete, they got to put their pumpkin into the pumpkin patch! This was an extension to a STEM activity that we did with Mrs. Davis during STEM week.
In November and December, Briggs students will apply what they have learned so far in our STEAM lessons to a district-wide design challenge: Can you help the Gingerbread Boy make it safely across the river? We can't wait to see our students' creative solutions!
Picture retake day is November 8th!
