Spring is finally here! Lots of events going on and coming up--athletics, clubs, projects, 8th grade field trip, Green Team water testing, PTO cupcake sale, and more. Warmer weather and busy schedules can be distracting but we look forward to finishing the school year strong!

Congratulations to our Science Olympians who had a strong showing in the State Competition last weekend!

M-STEP Update: 7th Graders begin with ELA testing on Monday, 6th Graders continue testing with math. Thank you for helping your child come to school with his/her iPad fully charged next week!

Student Council

For current 6th and 7th graders: Smith Student Council is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year. If you're creative and have some great ideas for fun school activities, then Smith's Student Council is for you! Submit a 20 second video to Schoology explaining why you would be great for Student Council. For more information on applying please see Ms. Tamakloe in room 8. Videos are due Friday, May 25!

For current 8th graders: Troy High is looking for incoming Freshmen Student Council representatives. Applications are available in Ms. Tamakloe's room. Applications are due to Ms. Tamakloe by Monday, May 21. No extensions for turning in applications will be given. If you have any questions please see Ms. Tamakloe.

2018 Troybery Ceremony

The 2018 Troybery Award Winner has been revealed! Read Mrs. Chatel’s blog to find out which book won, watch the ceremony on Vimeo, or tune in May 11-13 at 1 pm and 8 pm on Channel 15 (WOW) or Channel 19 (Comcast) to see the ceremony broadcast.

8th Grade Promotion Help

The 8th Grade Promotion Committee is looking for parent volunteers to help with cutting out paper shields for the graduating 8th graders. If you would like to help, please send an email to pramila.rama@gmail.com by Wednesday, May 9th. We will contact you with the next steps.
