Jim Hengel, CGCS, Joins Floratine's Global Team

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn., January 9, 2017

Floratine Products Group, Inc., a manufacturer of technically-advanced foliar and soil-based turfgrass solutions, has named Jim Hengel to its Agronomy Staff.

Jim joins Floratine with a wealth of experience as a Certified GCSAA Golf Course Superintendent, an educator, a mentor, and a consultant. Jim earned a Turf Management degree from the University of Massachusetts and a degree in Political Science from the State University of New York.

Jim has been a Certified Golf Course Superintendent for more than 20 years and has been the Director of Operations at Birmingham CC, Links at Hiawatha Landing, The Glen, Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club, and Quail Ridge CC. He has completed several grow-in and construction projects, hosted the BC Open, the New York State Amateur, and participated in several PGA Championships, US Amateur, PGA Grand Slam, and Champions Tour events.

During Jim’s 30+ year career he also maintained positions as an Advisory Board member of the SUNY Delhi, Plant and Soil Science Department, a voting delegate of the GCSAA, Education Director and President of CNYGCSA, served as Board of Director NYSTA, and as a faculty member of GCSAA’s budgeting seminars.

In his new position, Jim will assist Floratine’s CEO, Kevin Cavanaugh, with special projects and new technology platforms and consult with customers to achieve optimal turf conditions and management practices.

He brings tremendous experience and is highly regarded as a consultant who drills down to the root of an issue and provides sound guidance and advice to help his peers succeed,” added Cavanaugh. “He will be heading up our latest patented-technology advancements with field testing in every effort to assist our customers with the challenges they face in course management and environmental stewardship.
