Bordertown Biker Bash Amherst hosts hundreds of bikes July 13-15

Hundreds of motorcyclists roared into Amherst on Friday, July 13, for the three-day Bordertown Bike Bash.

They came into town, sometimes alone, sometimes in a group, and they all descended upon the Superstore lot on South Albion Street, where vendors, food trucks and entertainment awaited. The entertainment included a burn-out competition, stunts performed by the Hub City Stunt Riders and music by Mike Blakeney and Loaded Dice.
On Saturday, the bikers began gathering for the Tim Hortons' Blitz the Bridge 2018 Defenders Poker run for Champs.
Some took the time to relax, others walked around and yet others checked over the bikes.
Bikers seemed to be everywhere, getting ready for the run
Organizer Mike Johnson provided the rules and directions, a blessing was made as bikers bowed their heads in prayer, asking for a safe journey
then, donning their helmets, revving up their engines, more than 150 bikers headed out on the trail
While the run was on, people played games or listened to entertainment
Others cleaned and shined their bikes
Others watched a Tae Kwon-Do demonstration put on by JC's Tae Kwon-Do members
Still others checked out the vendors, ate food, listened to more entertainment or got their faces painted
But most continued to check out the bikes on display until.....
Pure adrenaline and Hub City Stunt Riders began their demonstration
The stuntmen thrilled the crowd, soaring over them, performing stunts and landing safely
The large crowds were then entertained in the main tent. Sunday saw much the same, as well as a blessing of the bikes and a rolling church parade before the bikers made a final parade of motorcycles.
With the party over, the bikers left as they came, alone, with a friend or in groups.
