Mayfield Milestones 1981 - 2021

18th May 2021 marks a whole 40 years since the formation of Mayfield Floors.

To celebrate such an impressive achievement, we've taken a trip down memory lane by digging out the archives and looking back at the history of the business. Scroll through below to see some of our best and biggest milestones throughout the past 40 years.

What we now know as Mayfield Floors, was first known as Bluenuit Ltd / Mayfield Carpet Fitters and was established by Eric Francis (pictured right) on 18th May 1981.

Back then, the business installed all types of domestic carpets in the local Stockport area.

In 1982, the business moved to its first business premises at 7 Hopes Carr, Stockport and the first ever staff members were employed.

In 1990, the business was awarded its first contract for NatWest Bank.

In 1994, Mayfield Carpets became an approved contractor to deliver and install flooring to all 'Birthdays Card Shops'; the leading British high street greeting cards retailer.

1997

At the age of 18, Anthony Francis joined the company, before later going on to become Managing Director.

2004

A new recruit was added to the company with the employment of Adam Kelly as Administrator of the business.

Adam remains with the business still to this day where he now works as our Warehouse manager.

In 2006, the business moved premises to Mayfield House on 34-36 Upper Brook Street in Stockport...

...where we still remain today!

In 2007, Jonny Garside joined the Mayfield Floors team.

Now in his 14th year of service, Jonny is our longest standing Floor Installation Operative!

In 2008, at the age of 17, Adam Bradshaw began his apprenticeship with the company, working as a Fitter.

Adam is still with us 13 years later, and now works as our Project Manager!

2011

Anthony Francis became Managing Director of Mayfield Floors.

On 6th October 2011, Mayfield Floors became members of the CFA: Contract Flooring Association and we have remained a member ever since.

2013

In March 2013, we experienced a double-win picking up a Gold Award and the prestigious Contractor of the Year Award at the Recofloor Awards which took place at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Warwickshire.

Also in 2013, Craig Taylor joined the company, and is another of our longer standing Floor Installation Operatives!

In 2018, the businesses core values were created.

We Turn Forty!

The biggest highlights over the years for Mayfield Floors has been seeing the growth of the company, not only in terms of turnover but in all aspects. To have a successful family business means a lot to me personally, and it's important for me to keep it going for years to come. We hold dear our company values which keep us in good stead, in terms of our employees, our clients and our suppliers and we hope to continue to go from strength to strength as a business - Anthony Francis
