Rydym yn drist iawn i ffarwelio â rhai o'r tîm Swyddogion Sabothol 2019-20 sy'n gadael. Mae hi wedi bod yn flwyddyn anhygoel o gyffrous i Undeb Bangor, ac mae'r swyddogion wedi parhau i fod yn ymrwymedig i wrando a chynrychioli myfyrwyr, gan sicrhau ymgysylltiad ehangach â myfyrwyr, ac mae'n nhw wedi llwyddo i sicrhau rhai enillion nodedig i fyfyrwyr o dan amgylchiadau sydd wedi bod yn anodd. Gobeithio y byddwch chi'n ymuno â ni i ddiolch iddyn nhw am yr holl waith anhygoel mae nhw wedi'i wneud eleni, a dymuno'r gorau i Mark, Lleucu, Muhammad a Harry yn y dyfodol wrth iddyn nhw symud ymlaen at bethau newydd.
Goodbye
We are very sad to be saying goodbye to our outgoing Sabbatical Officer team for 2019-20. It's been an incredibly eventful year for Undeb Bangor, and the officers have remained committed to listening and representing students, ensuring wider student engagement, and they've managed to negotiate some impressive wins for students under what have been difficult circumstances. We hope you'll join us in thanking them for all the amazing work they've done this year, and wishing Mark, Lleucu, Muhammad and Harry all the very best for the future as they move on to greater things.

Ddoe cyhoeddodd Harry Riley, Llywydd Etholedig 2020-21 a Is-Lywydd Addysg ei fod wedi gwneud y penderfyniad anodd iawn i ymddiswyddo o’i swydd ac felly na fydd yn ymgymryd â’i rôl fel Llywydd ar gyfer blwyddyn academaidd 2020-21. Bydd Harry yn cymryd swydd fel Swyddog Gweithredol Uwch yn yr Adran Digidol, Diwylliant, y Cyfryngau a Chwaraeon yn San Steffan yn y Swyddfa Cymdeithas Sifil. Gallwch weld ei ddatganiad llawn yma.
Rydym yn dymuno'n dda i Harry yn yr hyn y mae'n ei ddweud yw ei “swydd ddelfrydol” a diolch iddo am yr holl waith rhagorol a chaled dros y 12 mis diwethaf.

Yesterday Harry Riley, the President Elect and 2020-21 VP Education announced that he has made the very difficult decision to resign from office and will therefore not be taking up his role as President for the 2020-21 academic year. Harry will be taking up a position as Higher Executive Officer in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in Westminster within the Office for Civil Society. We wish Harry well going in to what he says is his “dream job” and thank him for all of the excellent and hard work over the past 12 months.
The decision has been made to hold a bye-election in the coming weeks. Full details will follow early next week, with nominations expected to open sometime in the next two weeks. Bob blwyddyn mae Undeb Bangor, Undeb Myfyrwyr Prifysgol Bangor yn croesawu tîm newydd o swyddogion sabothol. Mae’r swyddogion sabothol, sydd hefyd yn cael ei adnabod fel y Sabbs yn cael ei ethol bob blwyddyn mewn etholiad traws-gampws yn gynnar yn y flwyddyn cyn cychwyn ei swydd yn fis Gorffennaf.
Mae’r Sabbs yma i gynrychioli'r corff myfyrwyr a'u llais gyda bob math o faterion sydd o bwys i fyfyrwyr. Yma ym Mangor gennym ni 5 swyddog sydd yn gweithio llawn amser i sicrhau eich bod chi, ein myfyrwyr, yn cael y profiad orau bosib tra yma. Dyma gyflwyniad sydyn i’r Sabbs blwyddyn yma a beth yw pwrpas eu rôl.
New Sabbatical Officer Team!
Every year Undeb Bangor, Bangor university Students’ Union welcome in a new team of Sabbatical Officers. Sabbatical Officers, also known as ‘Sabbs’ are elected in a cross-campus election early in the year and start their post in early July.
Sabbs are here to represent the student body and the student voice with regards to all manner of student related issues. Here at Bangor we have 5 officers who work full time to ensure that you, our students, get the best experience while at Bangor. Here is a quick introduction to the Sabbatical Officers for this year and what roles they hold.
James Avison - Is-lywydd Addysg
Mae James yn gyfrifol am gylch gwaith Addysg yr Undeb, gan ganolbwyntio'n benodol ar faterion polisi, cyllid ac ansawdd addysg genedlaethol a lleol. Mae James yn edrych allan am yr holl fyfyrwyr, mae hyn yn cynnwys israddedigion ac ôl-raddedigion. Mae system Cynrychiolwyr Cwrs Undeb Bangor yn system lwyddiannus sy'n arwain at lawer o newidiadau i addysg ein myfyrwyr bob blwyddyn. Mae James yn gweithio'n agos gyda'n Cynrychiolwyr Cwrs i sicrhau bod eich llais yn cael ei glywed.
James Avison – Vice President for Education
James is responsible for the Union’s Education remit, with particular focus on matters of national and local education policy, funding and quality. James looks out for all students, this includes undergraduate and postgraduates. Undeb Bangor’s Course Rep system is a successful system which results in many changes to our students education every year. James works closely with our Course Reps to ensure that your voice is heard.
Henry Williams - Is-lywydd Chwaraeon
Hon fydd ail flwyddyn Henry fel Is-lywydd Chwaraeon ar ôl cael ei ethol i mewn am ail dymor. Henry yw eich Sabb sy'n ymwneud a phopeth sy'n gysylltiedig â Chwaraeon yr Undeb Myfyrwyr. Mae Henry yn aml cael ei adnabod fel Llywydd yr Undeb Athletau, sy'n gyfrifol am ei weithrediad a'i gyllid, a sicrhau bod gan ei glybiau'r adnoddau a'r wybodaeth sydd eu hangen arnynt i weithredu. Mae'n gweithio'n agos gyda'r Brifysgol, Adran Chwaraeon Bangor a BUCS, y sefydliad sy'n gyfrifol am chwaraeon rhyng-brifysgol yn y DU, i gynrychioli anghenion amrywiol y corff myfyrwyr.
Henry Williams – Vice President for Sports
This will be Henry’s second year as Vice President for Sports after being elected in for a second term. Henry is your Sabb for all things related to Sports at the Students’ Union. Henry is popularly known as the Athletic Union President, responsible for its operation and finances, and ensuring that its clubs have the resources and information they require to function. He works closely with the University, Bangor Sports Department and BUCS, the organisation responsible for inter-university sport in the UK, to represent the varying needs of the student body.
Katie Tew - Is-lywydd Cymdeithasau a Gwirfoddoli
Katie yw’r swyddog sy’n gyfrifol am gylch gwaith Cymdeithasau a Gwirfoddoli Undeb y Myfyrwyr a’i weithrediad a’i gyllid, a sicrhau bod gan ei chymdeithasau'r adnoddau a’r wybodaeth sydd eu hangen arnynt i weithredu.
Katie Tew – Vice President for Societies and Volunteering
Katie is the officer responsible for the Students’ Union’s Societies and Volunteering remit and its operation and finances, and ensuring that its societies have the resources and information they require to function.
Iwan Evans - Llywydd UMCB
Fel Llywydd UMCB (Undeb Myfyrwyr Cymraeg Bangor) bydd Iwan Evans yn cynrychioli’r myfyrwyr sy’n siaradwyr neu’n ddysgwyr Cymraeg yn academaidd ac yn gweithio i gynnig cyfleoedd ar eu cyfer drwy gyfrwng yr Iaith Gymraeg. Bydd hefyd yn cynrychioli’r myfyrwyr sy’n siaradwyr Cymraeg ar lu o gyfarfodydd y Brifysgol yn sicrhau fod eu llais yn cael eu clywed yn gyson. Yn ogystal, bydd yn trefnu ac yn cynnal ymgyrchoedd yn ymwneud â’r iaith â’i diwylliant i godi ymwybyddiaeth ohoni o fewn yr Undeb a’r Brifysgol.
Iwan Evans – UMCB President
As the UMCB, Undeb Myfyrwyr Cymraeg Bangor (Bangor Welsh Students' Union) President, Iwan Evans will be representing Welsh learners and speakers in their academic interests as well as working towards offering opportunities for them through the medium of Welsh. Iwan will be representing Welsh speaking students at several University meetings an ensuring that their voice is being heard. Another part of the role includes organising and hosting campaigns concerning the Welsh language and culture to increase awareness within the Union and the University.
