Art Battle in Hamilton

Art Battle is a competitive live painting competition held around the world and in Canada. Canadians from Vancouver to Halifax and all places in-between face off in head to head competitions to determine who amongst them is the best.

The rules are simple: each artist has 20 minutes to paint a canvas with the colours and brushes provided. Winners of each round are chosen by the audience and after three rounds a winner is crowned.

Experience the Whirlpool

The audience swirls around the artists in a "slow whirlpool". Everyone in the room walks around the artists, taking in snapshots of each piece. When they come back, each painting will have transformed.

Winners of the Art Battle get to move on to regional, national and eventually, international championships. This month's winner in Hamilton won a ticket to provincial championships being held at Toronto next year.

The next Hamilton Art Battle will take place on Dec. 14 at the Spice Factory starting at 7:00 pm.
