Congratulations to this year's 2022 UAIS Summer Olympics victors - Fox House! Fox House brought home an Olympics victory for the first time EVER. Take some time to enjoy a few photos sent in by our very own UAIS competitors and advisors:

On behalf of the Michigan Speech Coaches, Inc. I am thrilled to share with you the news that our very own, Mr. Chris Kuhlman, was named the MSCI Forensic Coach of the Year on May 21, 2022.

Bravo, Mr. Kuhlman!

UCS Offering CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) Testing

Students interested in earning college credit for information/coursework they may already know, can take a CLEP test, offered through the CollegeBoard. Please use the following CLEP link to learn more.

If you are interested in SAT prep over the summer, it is a really good idea to link your college board account to Khan Academy for additional SAT test prep. This is a great way to increase your SAT score and minimize your study time. This is because it will give you personalized practice based on your previous test scores so that you are only studying what you need to. Please see the following links on how to do this if you need additional help.

Utica Community Schools is pleased to continue the Meet Up and Eat Up food program this summer. Providing children with access to nutritious food beyond the school year and into the summer months has clear health and educational benefits. All children and teens ages 18 years old and under can receive free, USDA-funded, healthy meals at selected locations now through August 4. All meals must be eaten onsite. Persons up to age 26 who are enrolled in an educational program for the mentally or physically disabled that is recognized by a State or local public educational agency may also take part in this USDA-funded program.

During the program, UCS will serve meals each week at designated locations and times. No meals will be served on July 4, 2022. These free meals are for children only who are present and may not be taken offsite. The schedule of serving sites and summer meal menus for UCS Meet Up and Eat Up venues are posted online at:

The USDA sponsored pandemic related free meal program will end on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Beginning in the fall of 2022, families will pay full price unless they are approved for free or reduced-price meals. To apply for these accommodations, please go to https://utica.familyportal.cloud. Applications will be accepted after July 1, 2022.

It's important to stay happy and healthy year round. With the help of the Henry Ford Health System, UCS would like to share the Summer 2022 School & Community Wellness Newsletter:

At GLK-UAIS, we are continuously looking for ways to benefit our students through efficient processes and procedures. The GLK-UAIS Student Support Matrix has been developed and launched to provide clarity for the entire school community. Students should familiarize themselves with this matrix so they will know where to go if/when they have a concern. The matrix will help in providing the most expeditious response. This is a "living" document and will be updated as necessary. Please click on the button below to view the student support document.
