Habits of mind being used: Arguing
This last week I have been revising my draft and writing my final research paper. I’ve added two new sources to my research to elaborate more on how Frank Underwood is originated as a villain. These dated me back to the 15th and 16th century, a whole new perspective on my research. I have been writing my paper parts at a time throughout the week. This way I could revise it throughout. I made many changes as I used my draft for quotes only. I got to off topic on my draft and I needed to change my approach. I took the comments on my draft in to great consideration when writing my final. I greatly benefited from that assignment in class. In the end, “the best arguments emerge over time, after one has read, thought, reflected, drafted, revised, started over, and reconsidered.” – from the Arguing PDF. Even though it was a research paper, I felt I put my best argument across of the overall topic. I put a lot of emphasis into my writing, something I have learned through habits of mind.
