Xavier Romo a look at my art

Instead of just showing my work as a series of files that you have to open on your own, I thought it would be a good idea to share my work through a Sparks Presentation. You will see a selection of photographs and collages that I feel capture my work and show my influences in life.

I have lived in Los Angeles for my entire life, and like to spend time going Downtown to various shows, locations, and art galleries as well. After a long time of doing this, I have realized that Los Angeles street culture has had a huge impact in my work. I love to share why I love the city, and show people sides that are not always appreciated as well.

Another area of art that I have been working on since starting at Exceptional Minds is creating collages with Adobe Photoshop and working with various themes, ranging from street art to classical art. Though I do not have a lot of collages so far, they are something that I love to work on and will do more so of as time continues.

My art has really developed over time, and I am really excited to see where it will keep going from here. With my wanting to get into production work, I have been trying some new projects which I feel will really benefit me. One of these projects has been putting together color palettes, where I take classic paintings and pull out colors that stand out to me within works. Until now I have not really shared these pieces, but feel that they show what I want to get into in the future.

My roots and where I have come from are very important to me, and living on the East Side I feel that there are a lot of opinions that other people may have. I know that the area is raw and that there are issues that we have out here, but within those issues you can find some beautiful art as well. You just need to open your eyes and be more open.

In the end, Los Angeles and it's culture are the biggest influences on my work. I am a hard worker and am really ambitious, and hope that in my career I will be able to bring these aspects into my work. I consider my work a love letter of sorts to the city and everything that has been created within it's boundaries.

Thank you for taking a look at my art and taking the time to get a better understanding of what I do. I look forward to being able to share more of my work with you in the future.
