Nearly 100% of Palestinians are Sunni Muslims.

POPULATION AND GOVERNMENT

The population of Palestine is around 4.17 million. Palestine is a provisional government, which basically is an emergency governmental authority.

GEOGEOGRAPHY AND RESOURCES

Palestine is located in Asia and in the Middle East. Its surface area is estimated to be at 516,000 ha. Palestine doesn't have a trade resource.

NATIVE FOODS OF PALESTINE

Some Palestinian dishes are Musakhan, which is white beans cooked in tomato sauce and rice. Another Palestinian dish is Mujaddara, which is rice and minced meat stuffed in pumpkins.

CLIMATE

Palestine has a Mediterranean climate. It rains in between November and April. Winter can get pretty cold. It is very hot during the summer months in the southern areas. The temperatures during spring and autumn are around 23 degrees Celsius (74 degrees Fahrenheit).

FLAG

This is the Palestinian flag, it has the same color scheme as most Arab countries, black, red, white, and green.

CULTURAL CLOTHES

The cultural clothes of Palestine are abayas and thobes. Palestinian garments are often very colorful.

FAMOUS MONUMENTS

Some famous monuments in Palestine are: Al-Aqsa Mosque which is in Jerusalem, and it is the third holiest site in Islam. The Great Synagogue of Jerusalem and the Hassan Bek Mosque.
The Capital of Palestine is East Jerusalem. The largest cities are Gaza, Khan Yunis, Jabalia which are all located in the Gaza Strip. And Hebron, which is located in the West Bank.

MAJOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS

Palestine's agricultural products are olives, citrus fruits, stone fruits, vegetables and herbs.

NATIONAL DATES AND CELEBRATIONS

The National day of Palestine is celebrated because the Palestinian Declaration of Independence is written by the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish and declared by Yasser Arafat on the 15th of November 1988. Palestine also celebrate Eid al-Adha in September, New Years, Islamic new year, and Eid al-fitr at the end of Ramadan.
