Mock Election

On election day, Mrs. Lorance's 2nd grade class hosted a mock-election for our students to participate in. They had a polling place set up outside of their classroom. They collected ballots, handed out "I Voted" stickers, and then helped tally results. It was a good learning experience for our students to participate in!

Books Come To Life

Actors from the Springfield Little Theatre brought books from the Junie B. Jones series, by Barbara Park, to life through a live production performed at our school! Students and staff enjoyed watching Junie B. Jones, the Musical. The production included aspects from several of the books in this series. It was a great show!

Contest Time!

The Elementary held a contest to see which class could collect the most General Mills Box Tops for Education and G&W Apple Market receipts. Both of these companies give back to schools based on the items collected. We collected 6,294 Box Tops and 1,444 Apple Market receipts. Mrs. Hall's 2nd grade class was the overall winner. They got the opportunity to turn Dr. Katzin into a human ice cream sundae!

Art and P.E.

Students enjoy their special classes! Two were especially fun this month. In PE, students learned about cup stacking. Cup stacking improves coordination and motor planning. In art, students created small containers that nest together out of clay. They get to glaze them in different colors. The pieces will then be fired in our kiln.

Staff Celebration

Each year, our staff does something together to celebrate the season and build our team spirit. This year we volunteered at The Diaper Bank of the Ozarks. We helped repackage diapers that will be given to new moms in need. We also played some games and ate some yummy food together.
