Teen, Inc. by Stefan Petrucha Spark Page by Trinity Alvarado

If you liked Wonder by R.J. Palacio, then you probably wouldn't like Teen, Inc.

About the book

The book Teen Inc, is about a boy named Jaiden Beale. Jaiden is a factory baby. I know that sounds crazy, but he is raised by a special team that works for a corporate company. He lives in the building of the company, where there is a branch assisting him to learn all about buisness and other subjects. The company adopted Jaiden after a piece of their quipment killed his parents. Now he has no mother or father figure. Just a crazed mentor who, as he says "will never understand me". The book never gives any specific location or time span.

I did not enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. It was not down to earth compared to other books I have enjoyed in the past. It felt like I was reading a book meant for teenagers and written by a teenager. There was no suspension or anything to keep me interested. In my opinion, the Stefan Petrucha tried to hard to make it appealing to teenagers. I would not recommend this book to any of my classmates.

I chose Teen, Inc. as my book alike to Wonder. Wonder and Teen Inc were alike because both had similar main characters. The main characters are odd, diverse, and shy teenage boys. They deal with more issues than the people bullying them will ever understand. The boys will never live normal lives. Other than the character similarity, in my opinion there was no other similarities between these two books. But just because they only had one thing in common, doesn't mean it wasn't a big similarity. One difference I noticed was that Wonder touched my heart, and Teen Inc did nothing to my emotion. A main thing that keeps me interested in a book, is if it's heartfelt. Teen Inc did not do that for me.
