Happy holidays from the track! December’s race weekend was a brisk one as our drivers took on the Mansell (E) 3.2-mile course. We had 14 Prototype and 12 Sports Car drivers on grid for an epic battle to close out the 2020 year! It has been a whirlwind of a year thus far with more to come as we look forward to what the rest of the season will bring!
Per usual, our races were full of excitement as our drivers geared up to take on the competition! Indy Al Miller drove his new LMP3 car on track for the first time this weekend, which of course was decked out in the ever-present Blue Marble livery! Plenty of track records were broken this weekend as well in both the Prototype and Sports Car classes.
As our first day of races came to a close, we were pleased to have Tom Drewer from Radical Sportscars North America join us as we hosted the highly anticipated Radical SR10 reveal! Testing for this new turbocharged track machine occurred throughout the week leading up to December’s race weekend. The pure extreme performance of this vehicle was showcased during a launch control demonstration; it can go 0-60mph in just 2.4 seconds, 0.4 seconds faster than the formidable Radical SR8! The response was overwhelming as members took it all in and even had the opportunity to test drive the most advanced SR model yet! As the ideal vehicle for those who take their track time seriously, we are eager to see the Radical SR10 join our grid lineup in the coming months of our racing season!
Thank you to Blue Marble Cocktails, Dakine, Vertra, and Michelin for sponsoring our Race Series! Additionally, we want to give a huge thank you to Spring Mountain Racing, our track support team, and all our staff that feeds, preps, and executes our race weekends. We are grateful, as always, but especially this year, for all of you! Thank you, Club Spring Mountain, for your continuous support! We can’t wait to see you all again real soon! Stay safe and have a wonderful holiday season!
