To get hold of us, ring the bell in the hallway or message
The New Normal
Now that the Island is slowly opening up again, we all have to adapt to a new way of living.
We have been working round the clock to ensure that we are ready to welcome you back and we have updated almost every aspect of the way we work to keep everyone safe and happy.
Check-in - We have a fully automated flexible self check in system - arrive anytime from 2pm.
Breakfast - We are happy to serve your breakfast to your room or downstairs in our socially distanced large dining space. Order using our online form the night before.
Communication - We are always on hand to help with questions via message.
Hygiene and cleanliness - we have updated our cleaning processes to ensure a safe household. We have several hand sanitising stations in public areas and all bathrooms are supplied with anti-bac hand wash. We have introduced more frequent cleaning of key touch points in public areas. We have your safety and comfort at the front of our minds.
If you would prefer not to have your room cleaned during your stay, then just let us know. Safety is our number one priority for both you and our staff.
You may find that there are less cushions, menus, information booklets around the house but we have moved everything online so look out for our new QR codes.
Check out - All payments will be taken online rather than face to face and you can leave your keys in your room when you leave.
Stay Alert - All guests will be asked to follow the government guidelines if they experience any symptoms and we have strict plans in place that will swing into action should the need arise.

You are welcome to use our driveway to the right of the house. Please park as far up the driveway as possible to allow others to park too.
Please make sure that you always leave your car keys in a keysafe in the hallway. Take the safe key so that you always have access to it, and should we need to move your car to allow another car out, then we have access too using the combination code.
Please note that we do sometimes go out, so if you are at all concerned about your car getting blocked in then you may want to consider parking along Victoria Road opposite, or along Bellevue Road which runs parallel with Mill Hill Road. We are of course here every morning.
Standard Check out time: 10:30am
Late checkout: We offer a late check out service; for £10 you can keep your room until 1pm. Please ask and we will see if it is possible.
Your room keyring has your room key and a front door key fob.
Please take it with you when you go out as we are not always here to let you back in.
The front door locks simply by pulling it closed. Please do not attempt to lock it.
To use the fob, hold it next to the front door, press the button, wait for a double beep, turn the knob to the left to open and use the handle.
Order your yummy, locally sourced breakfast online by using our breakfast order form.
Choose to have your breakfast delivered to your room or to a table in our socially distanced dining room.
We serve breakfast: Mon – Fri 0700–0900, Sat – Sun 0730-09:30

All our ingredients are delivered to us directly from our lovely producers and local suppliers:
Brownrigg Poultry - the lovely Brownrigg family deliver their tasty smoked collar bacon, handmade free range pork Sausages, handmade black pudding and free range eggs .
Graces Bakery – We love their yummy multi-seed and white batch loaf Bread. A wonderful family run business, they have shops in Cowes, Newport, Yarmouth and Ryde.
The Tomato Stall – Delicious IOW Vine Tomatoes and IOW Ketchup. Nestled in the sunny Arreton valley where tomatoes have been growing for over 30 years.
The Fruit Bowl – Homegrown jams, grown organically in a 3-acre smallholding hidden away in the centre of Newchurch, IOW
Rosemary Vineyard – Delicious apple juice! The vineyard covers 30 acres at almost 60 feet above sea level. With its mostly south facing aspect the vineyard is ideally placed to benefit from the mild island climate.
Wight Milk – Milk and butter. Since the 1930s, the George family have been producing milk at Coppid Hall Farm. The family supplied fresh milk to locals throughout the 2nd World War.
Calbourne Mill - Muesli and porridge oats. Calbourne Water Mill is set in over 35 acres of stunning countryside. It is over 1000 years old!
Wight Crystal - Draws its water locally from Knighton Spring. As a registered charity it works alongside The Way Forward Programme, supporting people with physical and learning disabilities across the Island.
IOW Distillery - Gin, vodka and rum! Based at The Mermaid Bar near Seaview. They hand pick rock samphire from a secret location on the south side of the Island and use Boedicea hops grown in Ventnor Botanic Garden to make their lovely Wight Mermaid Gin
Goddards Brewery - The oldest brewery on the Isle of Wight and one of the first independent craft beer producers in the UK. Brewing in the beautiful surroundings of Barnsley Farm since 1993
We hope you will find your room comfortable and that you have everything you need.
A hairdryer and a heat mat for tongs and straighteners can be found in a drawer in your room.
Bathrobes, blankets, spare pillows and a flat sheet for summer months can be found in your wardrobe.
If you have a feather allergy, please let us know as some of our pillows do contain feathers. We are happy to replace them with synthetic pillows, so please just ask.
If there is anything that requires attention, from a light bulb to a spillage or something not working, please come and tell us immediately. Chances are, we can fix it straightaway and you can continue to enjoy your stay. Many thanks :)
An iron and ironing board are available in the small dining room downstairs
All our showers are electric. We do try to make sure that they always remain switched on, but just in case, you will find either a ceiling pull cord in the bathroom, or a switch outside the bathroom door.
Where there are towel radiators, they can be switched on manually to help dry your towels during the day. The switch is on the outside of the bathroom wall in the bedroom.
Any problems with the showers unit, please switch off, allow to cool and switch on again. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, please message us
We ask that you consider the environment and re-use your towels. If you decide that you need new towels, please place your used ones in your wash basin and they will of course be replaced.
Your room and bathroom will be cleaned each day between 10am and 2pm.
If you are having a nice lazy day or would prefer your room not be cleaned please use the 'Do not disturb' sign.

Bus - The Number 1 bus stop is just outside the house on the left. It goes straight to Newport bus station, 4 miles away, approx every 15 minutes. From Newport you can catch a bus to anywhere on the Island.
There should be bus timetables and maps in the Lounge. Or you can go to www.islandbuses.info.
The bus service on the Island is very good, and you can buy multi day passes which offer good value for money, just ask the bus driver.
If the walk up Mill Hill Road feels a bit much or the weather is bad you can get the bus back to The Caledon from Cowes High Street. Get on the Number 1 from the Red Jet or outside Marks and Spencer and make sure it is marked 'Park and Ride', this will drop you off at the top of Victoria Road right near the house. Don't get on one marked 'Round House' as this will take you out of Cowes.
Bike - Bike Hire companies on the Island can deliver and collect bikes from The Caledon if prearranged.
Try Wight Cycle Hire on 01983 761800 www.wightcyclehire.co.uk. They also offer guided rides.
Come and ask us about where to go, as we are keen cyclists ourselves!

Walk down Mill Hill Road, turn left when you get to the bottom and keep going. All within 5-10 mins walk.
In a hurry…our closest shop for food, conveniences and a cash point is a small Coop a 5 minute walk up Mill Hill Road on the right.
