FLY FISHING WITH THE SISTERHOOD september 24 - 28, 2020

Have you thought about learning to fly fish, but you're not sure where to start? Is learning to fly fish on your bucket list but you've been a little intimidated by it all? This is your opportunity to learn while you bond with fellow Sisters on this small-group trip to central New York. We're confident that by the end of the weekend, you will have had so much fun that you'll want to join us on our next fly fishing trip!

The Syracuse area hosts several great small stream options that are home to wild and stocked Brown Trout for catch and release fishing. Most of the trout caught average 8"-16". However, there is a fair chance at fish approaching & exceeding 20".

September 25, 2020

Today is our first day of fly fishing instruction after your included breakfast at the Inn.

The first part of the class will be held in a park or lawn style setting. On this day, we won't see a lot of fly fishing because our instructor is going to start with the very basics for the class. The class is intended to get novice anglers, like us, into the sport slowly without the potentially overwhelming guided trip right from the start.

We've selected the best instructor ever! In fact, be sure to follow him on Facebook . Brian is a fully licensed New York State DEC Fishing Guide certified in the use of boats and canoes. He is also fully insured and certified/trained in First Aid, CPR, and AED use.

The first 1 - 2 hours will be spent learning how to rig a rod, reel and line, how to hold the rod, casting instruction, tying knots, types of flies and more casting.

Then we're going to make a short drive to the stream where our instructor will teach us how to put on the waders, how to approach the water, wading safely, how to attack the water, where to find fish, how to fight and safely land fish, more casting and then doing a bit of fishing quickly at the end.

Afterwards, we're going to enjoy an included lunch with our instructor at the stream.

This afternoon, you'll have plenty of time to rest and relax or, if you prefer, feel free to independently explore the area. We'll meet for dinner at The Craftsman Wood Grille & Tap Bar where we'll get to have some fun together (dinner not included in package price).

After dinner, let's enjoy the outdoor patio, the fire pit and drinks from the Tap Room for some Sisterhood fun!

Today, after your included breakfast at the Inn, we'll be heading to the beautiful local streams for our refreshers, casting, and then putting it all together and fly fishing for trout!

After we've completed our fly fishing for the day, Brian will be serving us a yummy lunch again at the stream.

This evening is free for you to spend time with your new-found Sisters. Feel free to go into town or the surrounding areas for dinner.
