FLY FISHING WITH THE SISTERHOOD JUNE 16 - 20, 2022

ARE YOU READY FOR AN ADVENTURE?

The Sisterhood is heading to Downeast Maine and we're gonna learn how to fly fish! This is your opportunity to learn from the best in the industry while you bond with fellow Sisters for one amazing adventure. I'm already thinking about the laughs we're going to have at dinner in the Lodge while we reminisce about our days on the river!

BUT....your adventure doesn't stop with fly fishing! We've arranged for you to select an OPTIONAL add-on of 3 additional nights so that you get to choose what you'd like to do! Perhaps a day trip to New Brunswick, Canada? Or, spend a day at Acadia National Park? You might even want to try your luck at the Hollywood Casino one evening. Sisterhood Travels is all about your uniqueness and individual interests - and we think it's up to you to decide how and where to spend your time. Truthfully, you might even want to sit in an old Adirondack chair on the front porch of the Lodge and read a book or listen to music. Whatever it is, we'll be arranging it for you so that you have a streamlined, stress-free vacation with The Sisterhood!

Due to the requirements of the Lodge, you must be fully vaccinated to join this adventure. We appreciate your understanding. If the policy changes, we will update this presentation.

PACKAGE INCLUSIONS:

  • 4 nights accommodations (single or double occupancy) including all taxes (if you select the optional add-on, it will be 7 nights accommodations)
  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner every day
  • Three full days of Fly Fishing school with one instructor for every six women
  • Daily guide gratuities
  • Daily gratuities for Lodge staff including the dining room
  • All gear and equipment including waders, poles, flies and more
  • Deluxe SisterHoodie

WHEN ARE WE GOING?

You'll fly into Bangor, Maine on June 16, 2022 and depart on June 20, 2022 for the fly fishing school. If you opt for an additional 3 nights, you'll depart on June 23, 2022.

HOW DO WE GET TO THE LODGE?

Sisterhood Travels will be happy to arrange roundtrip transfers for you between the airport and the Lodge. It's about a 2 hour drive each way. Or, if you prefer, you can rent a car (maybe some of your Sisters may want to split the cost and ride with you). Or, if you're in the New England area, you may decide to drive to the Lodge from your home. Whatever you decide, let us know on your registration form and we will accommodate you.

WHERE ARE WE STAYING?

As one of the oldest and most famous sporting lodges in the country, Weatherby’s Maine Fishing and Hunting Lodge origins stem from the nineteenth century and have become a way of life for many sportswomen looking for a quality fishing experience. The main lodge was built in the latter half of the 18th century and has been catering to anglers from around the globe for 150 years. Steeped in history, they are an ORVIS endorsed fly fishing lodge.

Lodging at Weatherby’s is provided through spacious cottages nestled among the trees, with enough space surrounding them to ensure your privacy. Each of these rustic cottages have their own unique character and layout, but all have either an open brick or Franklin fireplace. After all, what’s more enjoyable after a day of fishing than relaxing by an open fire?

Cabins are of varying sizes accommodating either 1 or 2 guests and are private, clean, and rustic with open brick fireplaces or wood stoves. In some cases, if you select your own room - you may be assigned to a 2-bedroom cottage.

Private baths, electricity, screened porches and propane heaters all make your stay with us more pleasant and comfortable. We have full time electricity with back generators in case of power outages. Daily housekeeping is included as are gratuities for the lodge staff including housekeeping and dining.

WHAT ARE WE EATING?

Breakfast and dinner are served at your private table, while lunch, either a picnic box or hot cook-out, is provided while we're out on the river. A cook-out is prepared by your guide, and is an experience you will long remember.

As for breakfast and dinner, they feed their guests fresh-baked breads, fish chowder, roast turkey and lobster dinners, with a signature strawberry-rhubarb pie for dessert. We’re glad to cook what you catch any way you like it! A bounty of homemade breads, rolls, pies and pastries are baked daily to accompany the delicious meals prepared by our chef.

Nom Nom...yummy and I don't have to cook it myself!

Beer and wine is included at dinner, but they also provide coffee, tea, lemonade or iced tea to drink. Weatherby's is able to cater to clients with food allergies, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and lactose free - just let us know on your registration form.

WHAT ABOUT THE FLY FISHING?

Weatherby’s fishing resource is truly world class. Three-mile-long Grand Lake Stream has been fly fishing only since 1902 and is home to one of four strains of landlocked salmon found in the lower 48. Gin clear waters, long smooth pools and steep fast water all challenge the fly angler and provide the reward of a leaping landlocked salmon. Restricted to fly fishing only since 1903, the three-mile long Grand Lake Stream offers fantastic brook trout and salmon fishing

Our fly fishing school is private - just for The Sisterhood. We will be out on the water for 3 full days (June 17, 18, and 19). We have one instructor for each 6 women and, if you happen to be more experienced at this, we'll be sure to match you with others who are as well if they join us.

Highlights of the course will include: instruction in casting; reading the water; knot tying; equipment selection; fly tying; wading and safety. You will have plenty of on-stream time with your instructor as well as time to fish on your own. The small class size gives the instructors the flexibility to address the individual needs and interests of the participants. Everything you will need to fly fish, including waders, poles, flies, and more is included and provided to you.

WHAT ABOUT THE OPTIONAL 3-NIGHTS?

We've got plenty of options for you! Depending on how many elect to participate in optional activities, we'll be able to give you pricing when we have the numbers. For now, you can choose optional activities on the registration form - no obligation. Of course, you can also choose to do nothing but relax!
