Happy New Year! -from Teaching & Learning-

2017 is here so let's roll! 2017, wow! We were joking earlier about it turning 2000, and Y2K....how time has flown! GLAD YOU ARE ALL HERE AND BACK AT IT - Kiddos arrive tomorrow and school will be back in session - best wishes for a GREAT start back!

We can help with clothing and coats!

With winter here and much colder temperatures, be sure to remember we can assist with clothing, coats, hats, and gloves if you know of a student in need. Please contact anyone here in the T&L office if you aren't sure who can assist at your school. NO CHILD should go without as we have the means and resources to assist.

for learning about MTSS right along with our USD 383 Family!

The MTSS Student Expectations Questionnaire is below. We need your input to help guide our planning in the area of social emotional learning. Please take a few moments and complete this for us.

Speaking of social emotional learning....check this out! Are your students Above the Line OR Below the Line....Top 20 Training by facilitator Paul Bernabei.

Offer this concept to kids....you will be giving them a gift that not many have. They will have an awareness of thinking as well as a gift for a lifetime!

ABOVE THE LINE focuses on becoming aware of our thinking so we know when it is working in our best interest and when it is not working in our best interest, BELOW THE LINE. While the emphasis behind this workshop focuses on assisting students, many talked about how it can help us as adults and professionals as well.

LIVE ABOVE THE LINE, not Below the line. Mental habits do develop Above or Below the Line. Above the Line is working for one's best interest in clear thought while Below the Line is being stressed, frustrated, tired, and negative. Help kids to Live above the Line and not to develop negative habits where they will live and be Below the Line. Boredom, worry, the need to be right, etc. are things Below the Line; kiddos living Above the Line need our encouragement and support to be healthy, safe, engaged, creative, kind, smart, well-behaved, supported, challenged and caring.

TEACH KIDS THIS CONCEPT! Are you Above the Line or Below the Line....the Live and Visit video will help you understand the purpose and provide you immediate application....

Double Robot....this is for you and your classroom to use!

Our very own Duke Harmon, dukeh@usd383.org can assist you with the device in your classroom. Go outside the box and get Mr. Harmon and the double into your class. Not only will kids love the interaction but you will too!

Plans for our February 13 Professional Development Day will be coming to you soon....

We are here to help....be in touch so we can assist however you need us to.
