Frida Kahlo was a Mexican born artist, infamous for her self-portraits. She taught herself how to paint while recovering from a major injury.She was appointed the professor of the Education Ministry's school of Fine Arts.

Kahlo was identified as a surrealist by most. She ties to the 8 themes in World History, mainly in the category of Cultural interaction. That is because she made art that that was well-known not only in Mexico, but all over.
