WW2 Emperor Hirohito By:carson

My book is a biography of all of the main leaders of World War II featuring but limited too, Adolf Hitler, Winston Churchill, Joseph Stalin, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Emperor Hirohito, and Dwight D. Eisenhower

But i am going to focus on Emperor Hirohito, Emperor Hirohito was the 124th emperor of Japan, and was the emperor of japan during world war 2

He was born in Tokyo on April 29, 1901, and began ruling on December 25, 1926 after Emperor Taisho died. He soon learned that he had less power than he thought. The imperial army and navy had grown strong enough to veto government decisions.

On july 26, 1945 the us great britain and China issued the potsdam declaration and called for japans unconditional surrender. Hirohito refused. Two weeks later on August 6 1945 the us dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and droped a second bomb three days later on nagasaki.

He immediately surrendered and accepted the potsdam declaration and broadcasted his surrender speach on the radio, japan was the last Axis nation left, there surrender ended world war 2.

After the war Emperor Hirohito spent the rest of his life repairing bonds with the US and died on January 7, 1989, Ending the Showa era.
