The Kill Order

Published August 14, 2012

The Kill Order takes place in the mid 2010´s. This book is a flashback to when the sun first scorched the Earth. Most of the population has died off and the ones left are participating in barbaric activities. A small group of people that were adventuring discovered a key aspect that could help change society back to normal...if they succeed.

Characters

Mark is the main character in the novel, he has been through a lot in the past month. His whole family died instantly from the scorch and he did not see them when it happened. He and three other survivors had made a little settlement in the middle of the woods where they can sustain life. Until they were visited by an unknown berg that started firing darts at them. Him and his small group venture out and follow the berg to find some shattering news.

Alec was a veteran and a pilot of the United States Military. He survived the sun flares and was one of the main protagonists in The Kill Order. He is described as old, strong and someone who isn't as well-mannered but is kind at heart. For the main duration of the book he is mostly the around best friend and former military ally .

Darnell is one of the minor characters who is part of the group Alec calls "The Three Stooges", the others being the Toad and Misty. When the berg attacks the group, they start shooting deadly darts, Darnell is one of the first to be hit when a dart strikes his shoulder. He dies two days later.

Plot Summary

Sun Flares hit the Earth and mankind fell to disease. Mark and Alec were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving the sun flares was easy compared to what came next. Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the Eastern United States, and there’s something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it’s mutating and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees. Mark and Alec are convinced there’s a way to save those left living from descending into madness. And they’re determined to find it if they can stay alive. In this new devastated world every life has a price.

Likes/Dislikes

I liked how the author made an adventurous book with a lot of action. Also I liked how the author kept the book fast moving so it did not get boring. I disliked the introduction, it took forever to get through and if it did not pick up it would have been a boring book.

Theme

The theme of the book would have to be curiosity. Without curiosity the group could not have gotten to where they are.
