More Sporting Success at Impington Village College IVC netball girls reach finals

After the success of our Year 10 students last month our Year 7 and 8 squads are showing that they can do just as well on the netball court. Our Year 7 team won their district tournament and will now represent the South Cambridge School Partnership at the Sainsbury's Summer Games in St. Ives in June (IVC were last victorious in this competition two years ago with our current Year 9).

Our Year 8 girls team will join our Year 10s by representing the South Cambridge Schools Partnership at the Cambridgeshire County Finals in November. Our Year 8s qualified as runners up of their district competition. This is the third consecutive year that IVC will have at least 1 team competing for the U14 and or U16 County Finals. Our Year 9 girls missed out on the chance to win their place in the finals part as their fixture was rained off but this will be rescheduled soon.

A number of our students have been invited to trial to become part of the Satellite training programme which feeds the Cambridgeshire County Teams. These trials will take place on Sunday 30th April. Huge congratulations to all students and staff involved in this success and particular well done to our trialists, Mary Barnes, Asha Hall, Grace Richards, Isla Moir, Hannah Freeman, Sophia Scholten, Elena Kluyver-Rodriguez and Maria Sabater-Roca.
