WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL
In Mrs. Matteson's 6th grade ELA class, as part of their first collection, students learn about fears and phobias. In order to get the students' brains thinking about fears, each student made a fear poster. They drew a picture, wrote a paragraph, and presented their posters to the class. Clowns, snakes, and storms were the top three fears of our class.....
....During Homecoming Week, students were asked to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up. Ms. Matteson's ELA class contains future engineers, designers, athletes, writers, and nurses! ....
....In our first unit in sixth grade ELA, students were asked to identify character traits and use evidence from the text to support each trait. Students loved reading an excerpt from the novel Flipped because of how the characters describe each other and how they view the same event differently.
