Working TOgether, Giving back
Every year, upper schoolers compete to see which class can collect the most items to donate to SPAN (Serving People Across Neighborhoods) a local nonprofit who provides food and financial assistance to families in need. This year, the Centennial Seniors came in first with over 5000 items.
Sing for Your Supper
Sing for Your Supper began over two decades ago when Doc Heslin, a beloved former faculty member, told students that if they came to his classroom and sang a song, he would give them a can of food to add to their class's collection. Little did he know, the number of students in line to sing would eventually be so long, he could barely find time to teach his classes! In his memory, Sing for Your Supper has grown into an epic show at the end of Spirit Week.
40 under 40
Admiral alumni from far and wide returned home to Severn for our inaugural 40 Under 40 event. These 40 alumni are recognized for giving back to their communities, and elevating Severn School’s mission to “pursue excellence in character, conduct, and scholarship, to marshal the courage to lead, and to develop the lasting desire to serve and achieve,” whether it be through their career or volunteer work.
We have seen a lot of changes since our first class in 1914. But whether you graduated 20 years ago or your children are just starting their journey, you are the reason our community grows stronger from year to year. What makes our school unique is the vibrant network of faculty, families, and friends who work together to make sure every student's experience is the best it can be. Thank you for being part of our Severn family. Once an Admiral, always an Admiral.
