Self Drive through Highlands - The Highlands is a historic region of Scotland. Culturally, the Highlands and the Lowlands diverged from the later Middle Ages into the modern period, when Lowland Scots replaced Scottish Gaelic throughout most of the Lowlands.

Overnight in Aviemore, a town in the Cairngorms National Park, in the Scottish Highlands. It’s known for its close proximity to the secluded lochs, ancient forest, mountain trails and ski runs of the surrounding parkland. Near town, the funicular at the CairnGorm Mountain resort has panoramic views of the Cairngorms mountain range. Southwest, Highland Wildlife Park’s inhabitants include Scottish wildcats and capercaillie birds.
