The annual Welcome Week is a cherished tradition at Mercy. It includes fun events such as the greenie parade, the welcome picnic, and the welcome dance. This gives all students the opportunity to make new memories and to start the school year on a positive note.
Mrs. Wessling announces groups of the Greenie Parade
The Friday of welcome week is surely exciting for students, but the faculty and staff also join in on the fun. They put lots of time and energy into making this fun day happen. Without them, none of this would be possible.
After Mass, this fun day continues with the greenie parade. Not only do the freshman get to have their hats decorated, but the new staff do as well! This year four new faculty members participated, and their theme was the four seasons: fall, summer, spring, and winter.
Señora Stanley and her niece, freshman Jessica Baumker meet after the Greenie Parade
Many teachers have family that now attend Mercy. For exaMple, Señora Stanley’s niece began her freshman year this year. Our new principal, Mrs. Wessling, has a daughter in this year’s freshman class. Experiencing this tradition with family can make for awesome memories!
