The Friday of welcome week is surely exciting for students, but the faculty and staff also join in on the fun. They put lots of time and energy into making this fun day happen. Without them, none of this would be possible.

Strike a pose!

After Mass, this fun day continues with the greenie parade. Not only do the freshman get to have their hats decorated, but the new staff do as well! This year four new faculty members participated, and their theme was the four seasons: fall, summer, spring, and winter.

Due to the weather, this year’s picnic was held inside Mercy’s gym and Franey Hall. However, the staff still made sure it was a fun day for all. Teachers stepped in to play volleyball, Set up a movie to watch, or to chat with students.

Community and friendship are two major qualities that make Mercy unique. This friendship isn’t only between the students though. The faculty at Mercy have also formed lasting friendships with their colleagues. The Welcome picnic showed their friendship outside of the normal school day.

“Can you hear me now?”

Without Student Council, welcome Week activites would not be as successful as they are. They work very hard throughout the week to ensure everything runs smoothly. Above, Miss Marcuccio, sponsor of Student Council, jokes around with president Mayela Hernandez.

Overall, Welcome Week was a success and a fun time for all. New and returning faculty were able to bond with their colleagues and make new memories that they’ll have for a lifetime. Without the awesome faculty, Mercy wouldn’t be the same.
