Food Allergies and what can be done

We have a lot of empathy for people with food allergies and intolerances, but let’s not be a victim of our modern living.

Everything we eat is processed by the body. Our bodies use enzymes to process the food we eat and these enzymes are made by the body using minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids, which comes from the food we eat, unless the food is lacking in these nutrients.

How could our food be lacking in nutrients? Most fruit and vegetables are now picked green and ripened in transit which means that they are missing essential vitamins, minerals and enzymes that they would normally receive while ripening on the vine, bush or tree.

  • Studies show that intensive cropping of fruit and vegetables causes a reduction of mineral content in the farm soils which leads to diminished levels of trace minerals, vitamins and enzymes in the crop.
  • Pesticides and herbicides and synthetic fertilizers that are used to ensure perfection of produce on store shelves and when ingested can compromise the bodies abilities to absorb and utilize the nutrients from the fruit and vegetables.
  • Conventional cooking methods such as boiling, frying, microwaving and over processing further reduces the available nutrients. Add to that pre-prepared and processed foods...

After looking at these modern scientifically based reasons for choosing freshly harvested fruit and vegetables in season let’s reflect on why throughout our history we were required to source, prepare and serve fresh produce for our families on a daily basis.

The convenience of modern living with refrigeration and transport does not mean that we can expect that the nutrition levels in our foods are going to be as good as food that is freshly harvested. These are the reasons why after doing our research and due diligence 17 years ago we started supplementing our diet with vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. We found a source that not just works but works exceedingly well.

If we eat food where there is not enough raw material to make the enzymes, the food can have a negative impact in the body and can become an allergen. To counteract this we need to supplement with minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids.

No longer lactose intolerant - We have had remarkable results, one example is my husband used to be lactose intolerant, but after a short while of using these nutritional supplements he discovered that he is regularly able to eat all dairy products and he thoroughly enjoys eating a variety of good cheese, yoghurt (daily for breakfast together with fresh fruit and home made muesli) and a delicious scoop or two of ice cream - sometimes too often!

Improved eyesight - These supplements also made and continue to make an enormous difference to my eyesight and acute glaucoma. My sight keeps improving and with each visit to the optometrist the strength in my lenses reduces considerably to the point that I now often don’t need to wear my glasses at all.

There are many other people I know of who have found improvements in their health and no longer have food intolerances or allergies and I am happy to share with people who genuinely want to see a difference and experience what we and many others have. - by Elizabeth Christie and Laurence Billing.
