In-Seat Instruction Choice Now Open - The option to choose to have your child(ren) return in-seat or remain virtual starting January 19th through March 26th is now open. If you missed Kerry Birmingham's email, please see important updates that were communicated here:

Remember, those who indicate that they wish to have their child return to in-seat instruction must also agree to perform a daily health screening for their child as well as abide by the conditions outlined in the Family Guide. (The Family Guide can be found on the COVID-19 page on the District website.) Families who do not complete the selection process by Tuesday, January 12th at 5pm will remain in virtual learning through March 26th. If you are having difficulty logging into Powerschool, please email the Powerschool help desk at pssupport@troy.k12.mi.us or Mrs. Murphy in the Schroeder office rmurphy@troy.k12.mi.us.

Schedule for January 19th - We are all waiting for the official announcement on or return on January 19th. Please know that if we return to school that day, we are providing transition time for our teachers to get our in-seat students back into the routine. There are items to revisit and manage with students coming back into the classroom. Our virtual students will login to the class Zoom at 10:20am that day. Again, this is just on the first day we return. From that point forward, virtual students will login at the usual time and class will start for every student at 9:20am. Please know this return date has not yet been finalized and we are all waiting for confirmation. If we remain in virtual learning, everyone will login from home at 9:20am that day.

Setting Goals for The New Year! Students in Mrs. Malavolti's class were inspired after watching Kid President this week. The students learned that they can help change the world through small actions. Their goals included tasks such as writing letters to family members, reading a certain number of books, helping to keep the neighborhood clean, and helping others. Great job Dragons!

Today's Assessment Day - Thank for supporting our literacy assessment day today. As you know, this assessment helps us gather data, monitor student growth, reflect on our teaching, and develop instructional plans. Most students were tested today, however there are not enough slots for every student in our school. If the teacher did not assess your child today, the teacher will conduct an assessment during the school day in the near future. This is very similar to how we conduct our assessment routine during traditional school days. Thank you again for your cooperation and support!

The Family Literacy Video Collections - These collections help parents and caregivers with ways to support their children with reading, writing, phonics, and finding and accessing books. The videos are between 3 and 9 minutes in length, on a variety of topics, and they will be adding new videos to the collection periodically. Please take a look to learn more about how parents can support their children during virtual learning.
