What would I do without your smart mouth?*

Drawing me in, and you kicking me out**

You've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down

What's going on in that beautiful mind

I'm on your magical mystery ride

And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright

My head's under water***

But I'm breathing fine

You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

'Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginning

Even when I lose I'm winning

'Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you, oh oh

How many times do I have to tell you

Even when you're crying you're beautiful too****

The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood

You're my downfall, you're my muse

My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues

I can't stop singing, it's ringing, in my head for you*****

My head's under water

But I'm breathing fine

You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

'Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginning

Even when I lose I'm winning

'Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you, oh oh

Give me all of you

Cards on the table, we're both showing hearts

Risking it all, though it's hard

'Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginning

Even when I lose I'm winning

'Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you

I give you all of me

And you give me all of you, oh oh

*The metaphor in this song is saying that her mouth is necessarily smart, like it has brains, but that she knows what she is saying or she gives sarcastic remarks. He was trying to make the audience get an idea of what he actually means.

**The hyperbole in the song represents that he's not literally underwater and being able to breath fine. What he is aiming at is that yes they are going through hard times, but he isn't leaving.

***The Imagery in the song represents gives you a visual representation of a girl crying, but still is very beautiful. Even with the puffy eyes, and a red, blotchy nose.

****The metaphor in this song refers to the singer saying that this girl is going through so much, but still has the courage to keep going. The world isn't literally hitting her with a bat or anything, it's just throwing a lot of problems at her. It is also saying that even though she can be mad and cranky, he's there through it all.

Did my invitations disappear

Why'd I put my heart on every cursive letter?

Tell me why the hell no one is here

Tell me what to do to make it all feel better

Maybe it's a cruel joke on me

Whatever, whatever

Just means there's way more cake for me

Forever, forever

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to (cry, cry, cry)

I'll cry until the candles burn down this place*

I'll cry until my pity party's in flames**

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to (cry, cry, cry)

I'll cry until the candles burn down this place

I'll cry until my pity party's in flames

Maybe if I knew all of them well

I wouldn't have been trapped inside this hell that holds me***

Maybe if I casted out a spell****

But told them decorations were in pastel ribbons

Maybe it's a cruel joke on me

Whatever, whatever

Just means there's way more cake for me

Forever, forever

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to (cry, cry, cry)

I'll cry until the candles burn down this place

I'll cry until my pity party's in flames

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to (cry, cry, cry)

I'll cry until the candles burn down this place

I'll cry until my pity party's in flames

I'm laughing, I'm crying

It feels like I'm dying

I'm laughing, I'm crying

It feels like I'm dying

I'm laughing, I'm crying

It feels like I'm dying

I'm dying, I'm dying

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to (want to, want to)

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to (cry, cry, cry)

I'll cry until the candles burn down this place

I'll cry until my pity party's in flames

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to (cry, cry, cry)

I'll cry until the candles burn down this place

I'll cry until my pity party's in flames

It's my party, it's, it's my party

It's my party, it's, it's my party

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to (cry, cry, cry)

*The hyperbole in this story refers to her being so upset that no one showed up for her birthday that instead of being happy while blowing out the candles, she's going to be upset and alone. Also, you can't really make candles burn down a place with tears.

**The metaphor in this song refers to a girl so mad that no one showed up and her anger that no one has shown up is making her tears searing hot that they could "burn down this place."

***The imagery in this stanza gives you a visual of this little girl with tears streaming down her face being held down by the hands of the devil. The image helps the audience get a clearer understanding of what the singer or song writers are trying to say.

****The hyperbole in this stanza isn't saying she is a witch that will actually cast a wish to make all of her "friends" appear at her party. What it's referencing is that she wishes that people showed up so she wouldn't be all alone on her birthday. If she had the power to make everyone appear she would.

I was a hot mess

In my Sunday best

Black tears in my eyes*

You were my first love

You were my only one

I can't believe your lies

Once we were like bottle rockets**

Now I know I have to stop it

Please believe me

This isn't easy

I just need to say goodbye

Goodbye

Goodbye

Losin' my mind

Goodbye

You got a new friend

You like to play pretend

I'm just keepin' my cool

Turn on that smoke machine

Magic and make-believe

She'll never know you like I do

Once we were a fire burning***

Now you're just a lesson I'm learning****

Please believe me

This isn't easy

I just need to say goodbye

Goodbye

Goodbye

Losin' my mind*****

Goodbye

I know that I can find somebody

You won't ever find nobody else like me

I know that I can find somebody

You won't ever find nobody else like me

I know that I can find somebody

You won't ever find nobody else like me

I know that I can find somebody

You won't ever find nobody else like me

Once we were like bottle rockets

Now I know I have to stop it

Please believe me

This isn't easy

I just need to say goodbye

Goodbye

Goodbye

Losin' my mind

Goodbye

*The figurative language being used here is imagery because when it's saying "black tears in my eyes" you get this image of eyes filling with black tears. It can also be a hyperbole because no one can actually bleed black tears.

**The figurative language being used here is a hyperbole because he is being over-exaggerating by creating this unrealistic reference to tell her how meant to be they were.

***The figurative language being used here is a simile because he's comparing their love to a burning fire. That their love was "like a burning fire" meaning that they were that couple who never had a awkward conversation, or you thought your guy's love would never end.

****The figurative language being used here is imagery again. If you slowly read "now you're just a lesson I'm learning" you can get this image of a person sitting at a table and reading a lesson assigned by the teacher. It shows that he is learning from his mistakes.

*****The figurative language being used here is hyperbole because when he says, "I'm losing my mind" he's not necessarily saying that his mind is leaving his and running away. What he's saying is that he could think this, but then think the opposite the next day. He can't seem to stick with one answer.
