Blue Cruiser Unveiling Patrol car to honor child abuse prevention month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and thanks to Green Acres Landscape, Inc., a Salem Police cruiser will be decked out in blue to raise awareness, demonstrate support, and promote child and family well-being. Blue is the color in April to commemorate this cause. Green Acres Landscape is sharing their logo space with Liberty House Child Abuse Assessment Center, a non-profit who cares for children affected by child abuse.

"We're proud to display blue this month."

- Deputy Chief George Burke, Investigations Division Commander.

Representatives from Liberty House, Salem Police Department, Green Acres Landscape, and the Salem Police Foundation, gathered to celebrate the unveiling of the blue car on Monday morning. The event took place at the Peace Plaza at the Vern Miller Civic Center.

Alison Kelley, from Liberty House, shares her appreciation for the cruiser and the awareness that will be raised for child abuse prevention.
Dan Wellert, President of the Salem Police Foundation, discusses the importance of supporting the police department and other local organizations that are at the front lines of child abuse.
