UCHICAGO 55, BELOIT 12

The Maroons didn't disappoint a packed Stagg Field for homecoming, as UChicago rushed for an incredible 433 yards, led by Chandler Carroll's 123 on just 12 carries.

The 433 rushing yards was the most the Maroons have recorded since 2007 when they totaled 467 against Eureka College.

First-year Riley Trettle rushed for 115 yards on five carries and ran for a 48-yard touchdown in the second quarter against Beloit.
First-year Vittorio Tricase also had a big day on the ground, rushing for 73 yards on nine carries (8.1 yards per carry).
Senior Floyd Pitts (43) scored his first-career touchdown Saturday, a 10-yard score in the fourth quarter.
Junior Mike McGinley totaled five tackles Saturday -- THREE of them for loss.

#1 WOMEN'S SOCCER

(STILL PERFECT)

15-0

The Maroons remained perfect after downing Illinois Tech 8-0 Oct. 19. The eight goals were the most the Maroons have scored since the 2016 season. The shutout was also the sixth-straight for the Maroons, who haven't let in a goal since Sept. 26.

Senior Kelsey Moore netted the game-winner, a penalty kick goal in the 19'.

Of the Maroons' 52 goals this season, 14 different players have accounted for the scores. Jenna McKinney leads the way with 10 on the year.
First-year Maddie DeVoe netted a goal in the 38' minute in Thursday's win, her first of the season and her career.
Sophomore Adrianna Vera scored twice -- once in the 43' and again in the 84' against IIT.
Senior Mia Calamari netted a goal and exploded for three assists to direct the Maroon offense.

TOUGH DRAW

The Maroons faced a talented squad in visiting #10 North Park and fell in a tightly contested match, 1-0.

Junior forward Max Lopez leads the Maroons -- and the UAA -- with 14 goals and 31 points. Seven of them are game-winners.
Sophomore Dayo Adeosun leads the UAA in assists with 10, while teammate Matthew Koh is second in the league with nine.

VOLLEYBALL

BYE WEEK

The #17 Maroons had a week off after a grueling UAA Round Robin #2 that featured four matches in two days Oct. 14-15. UChicago heads to Aurora, Ill., for a four-match swing Oct. 27-28.

First-year Emma Griffith -- a 4x UAA Athlete of the Week -- leads the league in assists per set at 10.38.
Junior Audrey Scrafford is ranked second in the UAA in kills per set at 3.55 and total kills (302).

CROSS COUNTRY

The Maroon women's cross country team heads into Saturday's UAA Championship meet with high expectations after finishing second a year ago.

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK

The UChicago cross country teams were off last week in preparation for this Saturday's UAA Championships, hosted by NYU and held in Woodland Park, NJ.

Senior Khia Kurtenbach has led the way for the Maroons all season, as the 3x UAA Athlete of the Week enters the league championships with a season-best 6K time of 21:22. A year ago, she finished second overall (21:47) to help lead the Maroon women to a runner-up finish to team champion Washington-Louis.
Fellow senior Cassidy McPherson has the second-best 6K time this season, running a 23:03 at the Principia Cowbell Classic Oct. 14. She was an all-region runner a year ago and placed 12th overall in the UAA Championships with a time of 22:23.

'SHIPS ON THE HORIZON

First-year Ryan Cutter has been the top finisher in every race this season for the Maroons. He owns a season-best 8K time of 25:27, which he ran at the Olivet Nazarene Midwest Intercollegiate Sept 29.
Sophomore Ralph Patejunas has been a strong runner for the Maroons, running a season-best time of 25:40 at the Olivet Nazarene Midwest Intercollegiate.

SWIMMING & DIVING

The Maroon women's team enters the 2017-18 campaign ranked #9 and the men enter tied for 7th in the CSCAA Preseason Top 25 Poll.

#7 MEN'S TEAM

The Maroon men's swimming & diving team enter the 2017-18 season at No. 7 in the 2017 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Division III poll. UChicago opens its season Oct. 28 with meets at Northwestern & Wheaton.

Sophomore Reona Yamaguchi is one of the top swimmers back for the men's squad after earning All-American honors in both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke in 2017.
Sophomore Lance Culjat also had a strong first year in 2017, earning All-American status in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Sophomore Taye Baldinazzo also returns after earning All-American honors in the 500 free in 2017.

#9 WOMEN'S TEAM

Sophomore Agnes Lo, a two-time All-American as a first-year in 2017, is back for the Maroon women after placing fifth in the one-meter and seventh in three-meter dive events at the NCAA Division III Championships.
Junior Hannah Eastman is back after helping the 2017 800-freestyle relay team that finished fourth and shattered the previous program record.
Sophomore Yifan Mao returns after helping the 200-yard freestyle relay team set a new school record and earn All-American honors with its 13th-place finish.

FORMER MAROON GREATS

UChicago inducted its 15th class into its Athletics Hall of Fame Oct. 20 at the University Club in downtown Chicago. The Maroons honored five new members: Frank Edwards (Class of 1974), Beth Marquardt Calderone (Class of 2000), Joseph McCoy (Class of 1994), Fred Speik (Class of 1905) & Diane Trewin (Class of 1971).
