Over the years, we have seen an increase in the number of children with an assortment of food allergies – the most common of which are allergies to peanuts and tree nuts. That is why Timber Lake’s “Nut Aware” policy includes a ban on peanuts and tree nuts. What does this mean for you and your camper?
Warning Labels
Ingredient labels with warnings such as “may contain traces of nuts” or “manufactured/handled in a facility that also processes nuts” are not purchased by or permitted in camp.
Food Vendors
We have long standing relationships with food and beverage providers that are well versed in TLC’s “Nut Aware” policy.
Screening of Food
All food delivered to camp is reviewed by our Food Service Director and Dietary Specialists to ensure that it does not contain peanuts, tree nuts or traces of nuts.
Arrival Day & Visiting Day
We require that parents not pack or bring any items containing peanuts, tree nuts or products that may contain traces of nuts. To ensure the safety of all our campers, we also ask that no home-baked goods are brought to camp.
Tournaments & Trips
We do our due diligence and take precautions when campers travel to other camps or venues. Additionally, we always travel with campers' emergency medications and contact information.
Thank you for your support as we continue to ensure that EVERY child has a fun, safe and healthy summer.
