2017-18 Boilermakers: Lamina Cooper #BOILERUP

Sophomore guard Lamina Cooper gave Boilermaker women’s basketball fans a glimpse of what is to come in 2016-17, and is prepped for an outstanding encore this season. The Indianapolis native and Lawrence North High School standout was 1-of-4 Boilermakers to appear in all 36 contests last year, averaging 16 minutes per game and hitting 47.7 percent from the floor.

The dynamic lefty gives head coach Sharon Versyp an interesting weapon, featuring an efficient offensive approach and a lockdown, high-pressure defensive mentality. She hit 39 percent from behind the arc in her freshman season, while grabbing 2.7 rebounds and dishing out 1.2 assists per game. She shot 70 percent from the floor in the Big Ten Tournament, and was just shy of a double-double with 10 points and eight rebounds in the Boilermakers’ win at Minnesota.
