Salvation has three aspects. The three are called Justification, Sanctification, and Glorification.
Justification is Judicial
Past Condition ~ Justification.
Justification is the past tense of salvation. Righteousness is imputed (credited) to me.
The Righteousness of Christ.
Sanctification is what the Holy Spirit is doing.
Present Condition ~ Sanctification.
Sanctification is the present tense (right now). The penalty for sin was removed. We are set apart by God for His purposes. Sanctification is imparted to my spirit.
Future Condition ~ Glorification.
Glorification is the future tense when I am dwelling in the presence of God’s Glory, and I am separated from sin forever.
