Shakespeare's Life Jacob Ortiz Period 4

His Early Life

Quote: "What we know about William Shakespeare's personal life comes mostly from church and legal documents"(Anderson 776).

My Ideas: This quote shows how his life was influenced from church. His life and play where from going to church.

Quote: "William was born the third of eight children"(Anderson 776).

My Ideas: He continued doing all that he wanted to do dealing with eight children. He knew how to get through to doing what he wanted to do with them not stopping him.

Quote: "At the age of 18, William was young to marry, while Anne at 26 was of normal marrying age"(Lander).

My Ideas: This shows how he got married at a young age. He married Anne at 26 which is a good age to show his early life.

His Middle Life

Quote : "Beginning at about the age of 7, William probably attended the Stratford grammar school with other boys of his social class. The school’s highly qualified teachers were graduates of Oxford University"(Lander).

My Ideas: Shakespeare went to a high classed school. He was taught in a strict place where rules could not be broken.

Quote: "Shakespeare apparently attracted the hostile attention of a jealous rival"(Lander).

My Ideas: This showed how in his middle life he was very well known. He made some people jealous of him.

Quote: In addition, playwriting was not a highly regarded occupation, and so people saw little point in recording the lives of mere dramatists"(Lander).

My Ideas: This shows how Shakespeare did more than one thing. He showed his talents by not just sticking to one thing as some people would do.

His Late Life

Quote: " Shakespeare’s parents belonged to what today would be called the middle class"(Lander).

My Ideas: Shakespeare was not this crazy famous high class guy. His parents today would just be middle class today. This shows how he got so big.

Quote: "An independent library in Washington, D.C., houses one of the world's most important collections of books by and about William Shakespeare"(Lander).

My Ideas: This is was good for his late life because that his poems are in one of the most important libraries in the USA. This was good because it shows how good his works are in plays.

Quote: "In 1961, director Peter Hall assumed artistic control of the theater, which was renamed the Royal Shakespeare Theatre"("Royal").

My Ideas: This was good for him in his later life because he was very well known to so they named the theater that. That was a big step for him.

Quote: "The RSC performs in three theaters in Stratford. It presents a variety of plays but remains faithful to its tradition of staging new interpretations of Shakespeare"("Royal").

My Ideas: This shows where Shakespeare was from was a popular place because of him. That place would not be as big if Shakespeare did not perform there.
