The Future of Our Forever Home Alec deboer

Introduction

problems
  • climate change/global warming has been a problem since the beginning of the industrial revolution
  • the earth has experienced three consecutive "hottest years" in a row
  • every living organism is affected by climate change and global warming, and if we don't do something about it...it is only going to get worse

Research Question

What can we do to save the Earth from the epidemics that are climate change and global warming?

Preliminary Literature Reviewed

  • The Saddest Olympic Celebration...article on David Katoatau and the sinking of his country due to climate change
  • The Great Barrier Reef: a catastrophe laid bare...article on the bleaching of the Great Barrier Reef due to climate change
  • 2016 Was Earth's Hottest Year on Record, and Humans Are to Blame...article on the Earth's warming and reasons behind it

Research Plans

  • continue research on causes of global warming/climate change through scholarly articles and photo/video documentation
  • continue research on how to prevent...

Key Challenges

  • finding information that has already partially answered my research question
  • I plan to address these challenges by either continuing and searching for information that has yet to answer my research question, or possibly even changing my research question slightly
