May is parade season for OV's band and drill team.

Families with music and/or drill team students are strongly encouraged to come to the OV music boosters' meeting this Wednesday, May 3rd at 7pm in the band room (D2).

  • We will go over rules and details of the parades including timelines for those days.
  • It is a great time to come and ask questions about parades and uniforms.
  • Our uniform chair and our food chair will be there if you have questions for them.

Exact Change: Students need to bring in a check or the exact amount in cash to pay for field trips, yearbooks and fines. Our bookkeeper does not have access to make change. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Fines: All fines must be paid in order for students to receive their yearbook on super lunch day, June 21st. Otherwise, they will be able to collect their yearbook on Friday, June 23rd.

  • Library fines and wrestling fines are being sent home this week.

OV students, Gabriel White and Lyubov Morgan, strike a ballroom pose at last month's Blackpool Junior Festival in the UK.

Congratulations to OV students, Gabriel White (8th grade) and Lyubov Morgan (7th grade), for placing 32nd in the jive out of 155 dance teams from all over the world! Event was held in Blackpool, England two weeks ago. Way to go, Gabriel & Lyubov! We are proud of you!

Gabriel shared, "I would describe my experience in Blackpool, England as enlightening. I am blessed to be supported by my friends and family and be given this opportunity. It was amazing to see the dancers there who have worked so hard to achieve a place at this historic competition. I had a fantastic time there and greatly enjoyed dancing at Winter Gardens. This place is beautiful and ornate. The location looks like something from a museum with the sculptured ceiling and balconies. We also danced in the tower ballroom while in Blackpool. That was like dancing in a beautiful palace. Going to England is an incredible experience and I wish everyone in the world could experience it."

Here's how Lyubov described her experience: "Blackpool is like a dream come true. If you really want to know how well you are doing in the international ranking, you go to Blackpool. It is the largest ballroom competition in the world, and it is my favorite competition of all!”

Congratulations to the newest member of the award-winning Kamiak Dulcineas 2017-2018 dance team--OV's Haley Kniest! Way to go, Haley!
