Notes from the President July 30, 2018

Hello Falcon Families!

Congratulations to our College Prep students on completing another wonderful academic year! Please make sure to enjoy your time off!

Early College students, please remain focused - you are almost there!!

Important District Information

Summer Open House

We had a great turnout for our July 25th Open House and are excited to see the level of interest we are receiving at both the College Prep and Early College levels. We are also seeing interest from families who have students in elementary grades!

Currently our enrollment is approaching 400 for the fall! We are seeing building waitlists in 7th, 10th, and 11th, with only single seats remaining in 8th and 9th! If you are considering bringing a sibling and/or have a friend or family member considering enrolling a student at JPEC, I strongly encourage you, and them, to begin the application and enrollment process.

JPEC | District Calendar for AY 2018-2019

Please see our 2018-2019 AY calendar below! We have fully aligned our College Prep and Early College calendars for next year, and we have provided a stronger balance with instructional time and time off for our students and staff. We will provide our students with between 170 to 200 additional instructional hours for our upcoming academic year!

Staffing Update

Welcome Miss Rachel King! Miss King is joining our mathematics department this coming fall 2018, and we are incredibly excited to have her on the team! Miss King has been with JPEC for the past few months as a science teacher supporting our College Prep while Mrs. Nachazel was away on maternity leave. Miss King has a Bachelors of Science from Michigan State University and is certified in both physical science and mathematics. We are eager to see the innovative design work she will bring to the math department around integrating science concepts and math application!

Staff in the News!

Mr. Serafin Llerena was recently highlighted in Olivet College's news on influential alumni! Please see the article here:

Happy summer break, Falcon Families! It was a busy, successful end to the school year, and I was so impressed at how hard everyone worked to finish strong.
