DAY 1 - Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 - Late evening departure from Newark International Airport for Israel by ELAL AIRLINES. Meals and overnight in flight.

DAY 2 - Sunday, Feb. 17 - On arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, meet our Israeli staff and drive to the SEASONS Resort Hotel in Netanya. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

DAY 3 - Monday, Feb. 18 - Leave Netanya, and visit Herod's great city of Caesarea, with its Roman theater, New Testament associations and Crusader ruins. Continue to the spectacular viewpoint on top of Mt. Carmel (Elijah's story). Visit the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home. On to the Upper Galilee and the PASTORAL Hotel on Kibbutz Kfar Blum for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 - Tuesday, Feb. 19 - Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes (Sermon on the Mount), then to Tabgha (the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes). View the ancient Galilee Boat ("Jesus Boat"), found on the lake in 1986. Sail the Sea of Galilee, pause on the lake for spiritual contemplation. Enjoy an included lunch of St. Peter'sFish (other options available), before continuing to ancient Capernaum (Jesus' base in the Galilee) and Bethsaida (Peter’s home town). Return to the kibbutz for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 - Wednesday, Feb. 20 – Drive north to explore Tel Dan (Old Testament city and nature reserve) and Banias (New Testament Caesarea Philippi), on two of the sources of the Jordan River. Climb the Golan Heights for a sobering view into Israel from an old Syrian bunker. Back to the kibbutz for an evening talk on contemporary Israel, dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 - Thursday, Feb. 21 – Check out and return to the Sea of Galilee area. Visit the wonderful mosaic floor of the 4th-century synagogue of Hammat Tiberias (just south of Tiberias), and the Kinneret Cemetery for an insight into the Zionist pioneering movement of a century ago. Take some contemplative moments at the Jordan River to recall the Baptism of Jesus. A new feature on our tour is a visit to Sde Eliyahu, a close-knit community that combines a religious yet socialist life-style with innovative environment-friendly solutions to agricultural issues. Head down the Jordan Valley, bypassing Jericho, and up to Jerusalem, the Holy City and the KING SOLOMON Hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 - Friday, Feb. 22 - Ascend the Mt. of Olives for the panoramic view of the Old City, walk down the Palm Sunday Road, stop at Dominus Flevit and visit the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of All Nations (where Jesus was arrested). End the morning at the Room of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb on Mt. Zion.

Lunch at Ima, a fine middle-eastern restaurant. Travel to Bethlehem (circumstances permitting), for a guided visit of Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity. On to the Western Wall to welcome the Sabbath. Shabbat Shalom! Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

DAY 8 - Saturday, Feb. 23 – Explore the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and retrace the Via Dolorosa (the Stations of the Cross). Visit the Pools of Bethesda and sing in St. Anne’s Church. In the afternoon, explore the newly revamped Israel Museum, including the Dead Sea Scrolls, huge model of ancient Jerusalem and (optional) Archaeology Wing. View the great Menorah opposite the Knesset (Israel’s Parliament). Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

DAY 9 - Sunday, Feb. 24 – Begin the day with Sunday worship, and spend the rest of the DAY AT LEISURE in Jerusalem. Suggested: Explore the Tower of David Museum (of the History of Jerusalem) at the Jaffa Gate, with its great panoramic view and animated film. In the Biblical Zoo (a cab ride away), cages of creatures mentioned in the Bible carry plaques with the appropriate scriptural references. Share a cab to Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem to see the wondrous Chagall stained-glass windows (check opening times). Sip coffee in the Ben-Yehuda Pedestrian Mall and watch the passing crowd, or poke around the craft shops in the area. Your guide will have additional suggestions for you. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

DAY 10 - Monday, Feb. 25 – The morning includes a guided tour of Yad Vashem (Holocaust Museum). Head out of town to the Biblical Landscape Reserve of Neot Kedumim for a walking tour and lunch. Plant a tree at the site (optional: $18 per tree). Continue to the Elah Valley to re-enact the duel between David and Goliath. Return to Jerusalem. Dinner on your own. Overnight.

DAY 11 - Tuesday, Feb. 26– Descend to the the Dead Sea, visit Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were written and found. Continue to Masada (ascend and descend by cable car), view the oasis of Ein Gedi and bathe in the Dead Sea. Return to Jerusalem. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

DAY 12 - Wednesday, Feb. 27 – Take in the sweeping panorama from the Promenade, south of the city. Explore the Jewish Quarter of the Old City (Herodian mansions, “Broad Wall” and Cardo), and the excavations near the Temple Mount. Be part of an adventurous tour of the City of David and its tunnels, the original core of Old Testament Jerusalem; or be dropped off at the hotel to rest and start packing. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

DAY 13 - Thursday, Feb 28 - After a leisurely late check-out, proceed to the Garden Tomb for a visit and worship service. After a street lunch (on your own), leave Jerusalem via Emmaus and the Ayalon Valley to Jaffa and Tel Aviv. At Independence Hall, discuss the extraordinary circumstances under which Israel was reborn in 1948. Walk through the alleyways of Old Jaffa, with its Biblical stories. Enjoy a final dinner (included) at a local restaurant before proceeding to Ben-Gurion Airport to check in for the night flight by EL AL AIRLINES.

DAY 14 -Friday Mar. 1 - Arrive Newark in the very early morning. Welcome Home!

Tour Price Includes:

AIR TRANSPORTATION - Between Newark and Tel Aviv, Jet Economy, based on the lowest applicable Israel promotional fare valid for the appropriate departure date on any major scheduled Carrier chosen by AVIV TOURS. Domestic fares from cities other than Newark are not included in the Tour Price.

HOTELS - 5-Star (Deluxe) and Kibbutz Inn in Israel, all in medium-rated rooms. Accommodations are in twin-bedded rooms with private bath throughout, double occupancy. Single occupancy, subject to availability, at supplement indicated.

MEALS - Major meals (lunches, dinners) only as specifically mentioned in the Itinerary. Meals in flight as per custom of the airlines used.

TRANSFERS - Between airports and hotels as per Itinerary, including transportation of TWO pieces of luggage per person and porterage (see below).

BAGGAGE - Allowance is two pieces per person, one piece is free of charge, and a fee of $70 is charged for the second piece. The fee is charged for each through flight, irrespective of whether plane changes occur en route. Each piece must measure no more than a total of 62" (length plus width plus height), and weigh no more than 50 lbs. Also free of charge is a carry-on piece measuring not more than 39”.

SIGHTSEEING - By luxury, late model coach, air-conditioned when required by weather conditions, including the services of drivers and English-speaking, professional and Government-licensed guides, and including all admission fees to sites mentioned in the Itinerary.

OPTIONALS - Not included in Tour Price. When mentioned in the Itinerary, their description and extra cost are given.

TIPS AND GRATUITIES - Not included. A Tip Fund will be separately pre-collected from all participants and billed in final Invoice.

SERVICE CHARGES AND LOCAL TAXES - Included are all service charges and local taxes normally included in hotel and restaurant bills (for included meals). Increases in Fuel Surcharges, U.S. Departure Tax, Customs & Immigration Fees, port taxes and Airport Taxes, if any, will be billed separately in final Invoice.

TREE PLANTING - Not included. However, the Tour Organizer suggests that each participant plant at least 1 tree (approx. $18), a meaningful act in the spirit of the Tour.

PLANNING AND OPERATION - Included, as a mark-up on the component costs.

DOCUMENTS - Valid Passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond the return date) is required for each traveler. Visas are not required for Israel.

TOUR PRICE - Valid as of May 1st, 2018, subject to change without notice in air fares or land rates. Taxes and fuel surcharges are particularly subject to change.

FINAL TRAVEL DOCUMENTS - Will be sent to the Tour Host or participants, after final payment has been received by AVIV TOURS. Expect them no earlier than 7-10 days prior to departure. They will give final details and general information and include electronic tickets information.

Not Included in Tour Price :

Domestic air fare; Passport and visa fees; items of a purely personal nature such as laundry and valet charges; food and beverages not included in the tabled'hôte menus of the meals included as per Itinerary; meals and beverages not included as per Itinerary; tips and gratuities to drivers, guides, hotels' staff, porters, restaurant waiters, airport porters, etc.; personal and/or luggage insurance, strongly recommended and available at nominal cost, as well as low-cost insurance against loss of reductions in the Tour Price, in case of your inability (due to accident or sickness) to travel on the dates of the Tour and within the periods specified by airline regulations governing promotional air fares, or against cancellation fee

PAYMENTS - A deposit, as specified in the Registration Form in this Brochure, together with a signed Registration Form are required in order to obtain confirmed reservations on the Tour. Invoice will be issued reflecting the deposit as a partial payment received, and the balance due. Balance per Invoice must be received at AVIV TOURS Offices no later than the date indicated in the invoice (60 days before departure). Later registrations will be accepted with full payment, subject to space availability.

CANCELLATIONS - Cancellation notices will not be considered unless received at AVIV TOURS Offices in writing. No penalty or fee will be levied if written cancellation is received before the date on which final balance was due. On written cancellations received between 60 and 45 days prior to departure, a cancellation fee of US$ 500 per person will be retained to cover out-of-pocket expenses. On cancellations received 44 or fewer days prior to departure, the fee will be US$ 500 per person, and, in the latter case, such additional amounts as may be charged by airlines, land operators, hotels, etc., will be added to the cancellation fee. Once the Tour is in progress, no refunds will be considered for less than two days' absence from the Tour, and then only if prior arrangements had been made. Refund of any portion of the Tour costs will be in any case only the net amounts recovered by AVIV TOURS for the unused services, less a fee of US$ 500. Air fare refunds are subject to airline regulations in force at the time of the Tour. In any case, all refunds will be made only after AVIV TOURS actually received the funds from airlines and operators concerned. No refunds will be due for services not received by the participant due to failure to follow instructions, or to obtain required documents such as Passport or Visa. No compensation from AVIV TOURS will be due for expenses caused to the participant by airline delays, flight changes or mis-delivery or loss of luggage.


The Tour Host(s), AVIV TOURS and the airlines used in this Tour act only in the capacity of agents for the passengers in all matters pertaining to hotel accommodations, sightseeing tours and transportation, whether by air, railroad, motorcoach, motor car, steamship, boat or any other means and, as such, hold themselves free of responsibility for any damage(s) from any cause(s) whatsoever. AVIV TOURS will not be responsible for any damage, expense or inconvenience caused by late air, rail, ship or boat arrivals or departures, or by any change in schedule or other conditions; nor will they be responsible for the loss of, or damage to, baggage or any article belonging to the passenger. The right is also reserved to decline to accept or retain any person traveling under our auspices. The concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time the passengers are not on board their plane or conveyance, or in the car, limousine or bus of ground transportation operators, or in the premises of hotels, pensions or other places of accommodation. The passenger contract used by the carriers concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the carriers and the purchasers of this tour and/or the passenger. This brochure and the Tour Packet are issued on the sole responsibility of the Tour Operator, AVIV TOURS, they are not issued on behalf and do not commit the Airline(s) mentioned therein or any airline whose services are used in the course of the Tour.
