Welcome to NFFE 1450 We are excited that you have chosen to work at the HUD Los Angeles Field Office!

We have been working together to make your

first day great.

Let us know if you need anything!

We have put in hundreds of hours of union training so we know how to protect your rights under our contract

We have been to Congressional offices to advocate for training, student loan reimbursement and transit subsidy monies for you.

We have participated in all-employee meetings and raised questions directly to our HUD Secretary on behalf of front line staff.

We have even met with House and Senate Representatives to advocate for swift passage of a budget to avoid a government shutdown and to maximize your work in the community.

Senators have listened to us. We have listened to them. We all want you to succeed.

NFFE officers have walked Capitol Hill from end to end to advocate for the work you will be doing.

And locally --- before we moved to our new office ---- we negotiated a few things to make your work environment great... Including employee-only restrooms with locks for your safety.

And a health-conscious electronic sit-stand desk for every employee.

And we also fought hard to ensure assigned parking spaces for our disabled employees.

And a bike locker for our cyclists.

We worked with NFFE National President Bill Dougan and the National Council on Labor-Management Relations to get a HUD-NFFE Labor Management Forum up and running.

And that got us an award!

Our union members meet monthly to set the direction of our union work. We connect dues paying members from all HUD offices in California, Arizona and Nevada via teleconference. We follow an agenda and Roberts Rules of Order.

And in July of 2016 we signed a new collective bargaining agreement.

With a lot of really great stuff in it...

We are really glad you are here!
