Head Above Water

By Theory Of A Deadman

Did you ever picture life like this

No shooting star to grant your wish

Are you everything you hoped you'd be

I got somewhere in between

You dropped your miracle down a wishing well

And prayed for luck to cast it's spell

To bring you closer to your dreams

That always seem just out of reach

You pray to God, don't know when

But you feel the current pull you in

You try to keep your head above water

It's never been harder

Even when it feels hopeless

You're gonna get through this

Head above water

Gotta fight from going under

Even when it feels useless to wish

You're gonna get through this

Have you ever felt like giving in

Tried for hours but just can't win

Tell yourself you're not good enough

The struggle alone is just too much

No one's there to hear you scream

You gasp for air but cannot breathe

Did you ever think you'd see the day

When you'd watch your life get washed away

You pray to God, don't know when

But you feel the current pull you in

You try to keep your head above water

It's never been harder

Even when it feels hopeless

You're gonna get through this

Head above water

Gotta fight from going under

Even when it feels useless to wish

You're gonna get through this

Did it ever hurt so bad

That the thought of feeling lost

Would never end

Well you will think again

Try to keep your head above water

It's never been harder

When it feels hopeless

You're gonna get through this

Head above water

Gotta fight from going under

Even when it feels useless to wish

You're gonna get through this

Your head above water, never been harder

Tryin' to keep your head above water

Has never been harder

You're gonna get through this

You're gonna get through this

Album- The Truth Is

The line "You dropped your miracle down a wishing well prayed for luck to cast it's spell". This is an example of imagery because you can picture him wishing for something at a wishing well. You can also picture him wishing his wish will come true.

The line "Did you ever picture life like this no shooting star to grant your wish". This is an example of an allusion because it is giving you more information about how he is feeling. Is also adding more on to the idea of wanting a wish to come true.

Try to keep your head above water.

If Today Was Your Last Day

By Nickelback

My best friend gave me the best advice

He said each day's a gift and not a given right

Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind

And try to take the path less traveled by

That first step you take is the longest stride

If today was your last day

And tomorrow was too late

Could you say goodbye to yesterday?

Would you live each moment like your last?

Leave old pictures in the past

Donate every dime you have?

If today was your last day

(If today was your last day)

Against the grain should be a way of life

What's worth the prize is always worth the fight

Every second counts 'cause there's no second try

So live like you'll never live it twice

Don't take the free ride in your own life

If today was your last day

And tomorrow was too late

Could you say goodbye to yesterday?

Would you live each moment like your last?

Leave old pictures in the past

Donate every dime you have?

Would you call old friends you never see?

Reminisce old memories

Would you forgive your enemies?

Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?

Swear up and down to God above

That you finally fall in love

If today was your last day

If today was your last day

Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart?

You know it's never too late to shoot for the stars

Regardless of who you are

So do whatever it takes

Cause you can't rewind a moment in this life

Let nothin' stand in your way

Cause the hands of time are never on your side

If today was your last day

And tomorrow was too late

Could you say goodbye to yesterday?

Would you live each moment like your last?

Leave old pictures in the past

Donate every dime you have?

Would you call old friends you never see?

Reminisce old memories

Would you forgive your enemies?

Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?

Swear up and down to God above

That you finally fall in love

If today was your last day

The line " My bestfriend gave me the best advice". This is an example of imagery because you can picture his friend giving him advice. This is something that happens in life quite often. So this is an easy thing for someone to picture.

The line "What's worth the prize is always worth the fight". This is an example of a metaphor. This line is comparing a prize to a fight. It's saying that what ever the prize is it is worth to put up a fight for.

Live each moment like your last.

The Light

By Disturbed

Like an unsung melody

The truth is waiting there for you to find it

It's not a blight, but a remedy

A clear reminder of how it began

Deep inside your memory

Turned away as you struggled to find it

You heard the call as you walked away

A voice of calm from within the silence

And for what seemed an eternity

You're waiting, hoping it would call out again

You heard the shadow reckoning

Then your fears seemed to keep you blinded

You held your guard as you walked away

When you think all is forsaken

Listen to me now (all is not forsaken)

You need never feel broken again

Sometimes darkness can show you the light

An unforgivable tragedy

The answer isn't' where you think you'd find it

Prepare yourself for the reckoning

For when your world seems to crumble again

Don't be afraid, don't turn away

You're the one who can redefine it

Don't let hope become a memory

Let the shadow permeate your mind and

Reveal the thoughts that were tucked away

So that the door can be opened again

Within your darkest memories

Lies the answer if you dare to find it

Don't let hope become a memory

When you think all is forsaken

Listen to me now (all is not forsaken)

You need never feel broken again

Sometimes darkness can show you the light

Sickening, weakening

Don't let another somber pariah consume your soul

You need strengthening, toughening

It takes an inner dark to rekindle the fire burning in you

Ignite the fire within you

When you think all is forsaken

Listen to me now (all is not forsaken)

You need never feel broken again

Sometimes darkness can show you the light

Don't ignore, listen to me now (all is not forsaken)

You need never feel broken again

Sometimes darkness

Can show you the light

Album- Immortalized

The line "Like an unsung melody the truth is waiting there for you to find it". This line is an example of a simile because it is comparing an unsung melody that hasn't been discovered yet. To the truth that hasn't been discovered yet. Finding the out the truth is just like finding a melody that has not been played or sung yet.

In the line "Within your darkest memories lies the answer if you dare to find it". This is an example of personification. It is giving human characteristics by saying whatever is in your memories is lying there. Whatever is lying there is waiting for you to find it.

Sometimes darkness can show you the light.

Music is Always There For You

By: Ciara Moore

Music can inspire you to do great things.

Music can take you to a completely different place.

Once you hear a great song the melody will keep playing through your head.

Music is just like the truth there's always an unknown melody waiting to be found.

Lyrics to a song is like an untold story waiting to be heard.

By listening to one simple song it might be able to repair your broken wings.

When you hear the lyrics to a song it can bring back thousands of memories.

A song is like your own personal journal if you are too scared to write down or say how you feel the song can describe it.

It is always there for you when no one else is.

Music will always be there to hold your hand.

Music will always be there to hold your hand when no one else will. So never believe that you are alone.
