Brunch at the Dark Room We pay a visit to The dark room at the Grandel Theater and check out their new brunch items

Brunch at the Dark Room? Sounds gloomy...

The Dark Room is known for expertly made cocktails, late-night jazz sessions, and classy small plates, but since they moved to their new location in the Grandel they have begun to offer Brunch on Sundays. We were invited to come on by. Scroll on down to find out what we tried!

Beautiful day for some brunch!

Mimosas

It wouldn't be brunch without Mimosas, right? We got ours served in a fancy drink service thingy, which might not be the standard way they serve it... but if it isn't we highly suggest they start doing it as a regular thing.

Orange is the New Red

An award winning Bloody Mary with a twist. It features a pepper infused vodka they make in-house and a base of yellow heirloom tomatoes. It makes for a unique Bloody Mary with a much brighter finish.

Pick Me Up!

This drink is a bit of a love letter to fellow hospitality workers. It's a Red Bull & Vodka with an elevated twist of orange juice and champagne.

Classy and effective.

Prosciutto Egg & Cheese Flatbread

Crispy crust and lots of savory prosciutto and a nice yolky egg make for a very satisfying breakfast. Not to mention a great cure for a hangover...

Baked Avocado

Some of our favorite things combined together into a perfect little package. Baked avocado filled with bakedĀ eggs, crispy prosciutto, aged manchego cheese, and some nice greens with some roasted tomatoes.

Plus, it's gluten free!

Seasonal Parfait

I normally wouldn't order a yogurt parfait for brunch, but this one has Greek yogurt andĀ housemade granola with a really nice taste and weight to it. It also has wildflower honey and lots of delicious fresh fruit!

Bar man Charles hard at work!

What'd we think?

We've only been to The Dark Room at night, so it was quite a change to be there during the day. It's a completely different vibe but it totally works as a spot to have a great brunch! Big thanks to Denise Mueller (General Manager & Sommelier) and Chef Samantha Pretto (Executive Chef) for inviting us out!

Here's a podcast we did with Chef Pretto:

And here's one with Denise!
